This isn't a sales report, but it felt just as good, so I wanted to do some public cartwheels about it.
I mentioned this in a few smaller circles, but I started feeling (uncustomarily) like I might jinx it if I started chirping too soon. However, I had "The Phone Call" today, and it's official: I have an agent for my novel. Woo-hoo!
I've been shopping my novel "Slipstream" (working title) for almost a year, and I did actually find a book-to-film agent for it back in January (a wonderful woman at The Gersh Agency), but we still had to have a lit agent. The agent she found for me is John Silbersack over at Trident Media. And I couldn't be happier.
After talking with him today, I feel like I've found someone who'll take care of my work and my career, and the sense of relief I experienced was overwhelming. But I wanted you guys to know that I couldn't have had the level of meaningful conversation I did with him, were it not for the things I've learned from you guys. I was able to talk about revisions with him dispassionately, and really understand WHY he was saying what he did, because of the crits and advice I've gotten on this site.
For anyone here who goes through (has gone, will go through) that post-critum depression, wondering if it's worth the heartache...IT IS! Major thanks to everyone here who has helped me. I'll do my best to pass on whatever lessons are coming down the road.

WOW!!!! That is really cool. Congratulations! It isn't just you working to sell your book, now you have some back-up, and that is always a good sign.

Well done, Joe. Even belated congrats are still congrats. I'm sure with a little more perseverance you'll now find a publisher.
