Of all things, someone actually liked that old poem of mine.
quote:Mike,
This month we had a few guest editors, including MacArthur Fellow and New Yourk State Writers Institute Distinguished Writer-in-Residence Lydia Davis. Your poem "The Trees, They Rise" was among the standouts of this month's submissions and we'd like to publish it in our December issue. Please respond promptly with permission to publish so we can get it into our December issue and get your payment to you.
Thanks for the submission and we hope to read more from you!

And it's a paying market. I'm floored! I would never, ever believe someone would be willing to pay something, anything for my poetry.

You have a poetic style, even in your prose. You must be the only one surprised that your poetry merits publication! Congratulations!!!

Congratulations and hope you are inspired to create the other 3.5 before New Years. A special bottle in honor of 2006 would be a beautiful thing.

Thanks, all. That poem has been subbed continually and continually rejected for over 6 months. It was a bit of a challenge, just trying to find a place to submit to, and I was having fun doing just that. "Nah. These guys'll never take it."
But they did, and now I have to get something else out there.
