Shura,
There is an American agent named John Williams who is after you. His assignment is to kill you at all costs. He is approximately six feet tall with blond hair and a muscular build. He carries himself like a man who wants to stay hidden, which is what he wants to do. He wants to find you and kill you, so you must beat him to the punch.
-Borya

There was nobody else on the dark ally, he was entirely alone. Shura had to escape from Russia, and he had to do it quickly and quietly. His life was in danger. He was wanted in almost all countries, not to mention America, his greatest fear. The American government had the best resources, and always seemed to have everybody on their side. Not Shura. Once he reaches his goal he won’t have to worry about America. He’ll destroy America. One might ask, “How do you destroy America? You can’t destroy their spirit, and definitely not their country. You want to destroy America, you have to destroy the world.”

“But I know how to destroy America,” thought Shura as he walked in the total darkness.

Please post only the first 13 lines of your stories.

Thank you,
Kathleen Dalton-Woodbury

Hey Some Guy,

These should probably end up in the "fragments" section.

we go through this all the time. First, rules are post no more than 13 lines of your project, not enough storage space to hold everyone’s stories, and if you post more than that you run the risk of using up your electronic rights and your first rights.

Next, when you came to the BB there is a separate area called fragments and feedback. That's where you post your 13 lines. Then ask someone to read the entire thing and e-mail it to them. (That's the best way to do it)Go to the Hatrack River Writers Workshops area, then look down, you will see this area listed, followed by the one where you ask for a crit.

Read through some of the other posts there to get the idea. Also read through the ones here, they can be a lot of help. It’s also a good idea to read through the boring uses info and the agreements on any BB as some claim the right to whatever you post as theirs to do with what they want. This one doesn’t. But you never know.

Speaking from experience, I would recommend reading ALL the posts for the last 30 days.
They are very informative, and certainly are worth the effort. You also will get a feeling for the others here.
I would also recommend "Uncle Orson's Writing Class." Many knotty problems are discussed in a clear and concise manner.
