There isn't really anything wrong with that sentance...as a sentance.
The problem is the image itself...some guy poking someone with a waffle by way of emphasizing the sensuous appeal of said item of "don't poke me with that, you freak!"
Or it could be the memory of persons not named Jim doing almost exactly this to me...and no, not on a single occasion though certain individual occasions involved more than one person not named Jim.
