What are the immediate effects of castration? You see, I'm toying around with having one of the people in a short story do that to someone else (chemically, in a SF story, using a special "targeted killer cell"), but need to know how quickly the body would react/what the reaction would be.

Actually that din't happen AFTER, only before. Nowadays people get "clipped" with no effect at all. I don't think any form of chemical castration post-puberty would have any effect at all (except reproduction-wise) There would be little difference between castration and "clipping". Once the hormones have done their duty at purberty, you're set as you are.

I recalled a group that I had stumbled onto years before on the 'net and sure 'nuff, I was able to locate their website again.
Eunich.org's message board has a few threads you might check out, on the effects of castration. These are a group of folk that have (mostly) voluntarily undergone castration, so if anyone would know, these people would!
