Thanks for posting the link. I've been so busy this week I hadn't managed to get over here until now.Kolona, it's a little bit broader than just no fanfic. It shouldn't even be close enough that the reader might mistake it for fanfic.
For example, if you're going to have people with military ranks riding around in what they call a starship, don't have them work for an organization called Starfleet, or for a Federation, and don't have the ship names preceeded by U.S.S. -- even if you have perfectly acceptable non-fanfic explanations as to why those designations would be used. Even if your story is set fairly recently in a nearby galaxy, don't call the magical force "The Force."
Basically, just avoid anything that is too clearly identified with well-known media propeties.
