Does anyone know of any GOOD podcasts for writers? I am mainly interested in "how to" types of podcasts, not ones where authors read their work. Unless of course it was OSC ; )
Orson should do a podcast! Anyone who has been to the Writing Class/Boot Camp knows how good he is at teaching.

Tracy & Laura Hickman do a podcast, it's not strictly 'How to' but they do have bits on it. I haven't heard any of them, but I get the newsletter version of it. I took a class from them last year, they are pretty good teachers. They are also some of the best world builders you ever going to encounter.

It's not necessarily a how to exactly but there are often a lot of questions about why the author made a particular decision, so I suppose you could count that. Plus, I just always find it interesting to hear authors talk about their craft.

Thanks for the replies. I have loaded a few onto my iPod and will review and report back. So far, dragonhearthproductions and related ones look promising.

It actually surprises me given (at least in my view) OSC's general early-adapter tactics that he hasn't gone to some form of RSS or Podcasting but then again that is all supposition.

Ah, another advanced technology I haven't caught up with yet. But I mean to, iPods or MP3s, one or the other, at least for music...AM / FM radio just doesn't cut it for me anymore...

Ok, I know I am not finished reviewing yet, but I am very excited about one of the Podcasts I found. It's called I Should Be Writing by Mur Lafferty. It is billed as a Podcast for wanna-be fiction writers by a wanna-be fiction writer. Lot's of info you have heard before but also a lot of new info too (new to me at least).
I have found it to be entertaining and very informative. In fact, Mur keeps referencing another podcast called The Secrects which I have been listening to for a while now, but I find Mur's to be much more meaty. I haven't been able to move on to other podcasts yet as I am busy listening to her. Mur is a published writer, but has not yet published fiction, however, she you can tell that she has really sat down and investigated her craft.
You can find Mur's podcast by searching for it on iTunes or you can click on a "Listen" link on her blog http://shouldwrite.blogspot.com/ to listen to it using Quicktime.
BTW, I Should Be Writing is also recommended at the WordTrip site that JamieFord mentioned.

Dean Koontz has a new podcast. He palns a new episode every Monday throughout the summer. The first episode is one editors. He's planning other on other writting issues, including where he gets his ideas.
