My short story "Obsidian Shards" has placed second in the Third Quarter of Writers of the Future. My thanks to everyone who critted it on F&F!

That's great news, and you deserve it. You've worked really hard for it, so I'm glad to see you win. You've written some pretty good stories in the past, so I knew it would only be a matter of time.
I'm also glad you didn't have to wait tons of time to find out. I know that they only announced the winners from the second quarter a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad you didn't have to go through the long nerve wracking wait they did.

Congrats!!! I didn't crit that one, but I did crit one of yours called 'Dragon Feasts' (or something like that). I remember saying in the crit that you should keep at it because you were already good enough for pro-publication. Way to prove me right!

Thanks everyone! luapc, am I glad I didn't have to wait six months, like the finalists from Q2... Crotalus, that was "Dragon Feasts" you critted (which was my entry for Q4 at WOTF and is therefore disqualified). Glad you remembered it! BTW, does anyone have the names of the judges for the quarter? (they're in the rejections letters, so everyone but the finalists find out... )

I think the judges are only in the rejection letters for the QF and higher. Everyone else gets a post card.
