I just spent the last several hours skimming through all the topics in the Open Discussions forum. For anyone who thinks this might be fun, you should probably redefine your idea of fun.
It was interesting, though. It was interesting to see how long some people have been here, and how some used to post a lot and have disappeared. I went through some of the battles between people. I even found the one post by Mr. Card.
I feel a little silly, because I saw that just about every topic I've started has been done before, and usually better. I'm thankful, though, that some of the old-timers (no insult intended) are still around.
Every once in a while I'll click on someone's profile to see how long they've been on Hatrack and how many posts they've made. I was very impressed with Christine's 3,000+ posts, until I clicked on Survivor's profile and saw he had over 8,000 posts. It begs the question, does he get a reward when he hits 10,000 posts? Or does he just get banned

And I thought I spent a lot of time on the net when I wasn’t working. I didn’t think to even try and see what has been posted before. #666 is just a number it hardly means anything yet. Maybe in another 100 years, but not now. I wouldn’t worry about it. Rommel Fenrir Wolf II Posts: 856 | Registered: Nov 2006

I just skimmed some topics. The oldest one I found dates posted October 04, 1999 09:37 PM. If I had to sit in front of a computer screen and monitor all that for that long (not saying that you sit there 24-7) I would have ripped my own eyes out long ago. Like Rommel said Madness.
