It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

It's been an interesting week for me. I nearly finished the outline for Unmasked, then realized there were major flaws. So I junked it. Better to junk 10k of outline than 107k of story though, which I've done). I wrote a new one, which works better. It's also significantly longer, 16.6k, and I'm not sure if it's just more detailed or there's actually more stuff in it. We'll see when I haul it out for revisions this week before diving into writing the actual manuscript.

I also wrote a short story last night, 2750 words. It's my shortest work to date. It's also a bit of a prelude to Unmasked, an important event in the MC, Cayle's past. It won't make it into the book in any way, being nearly a decade before the start of the book, but I have a few more of these types of things kicking around from my last two projects and inspiration for a couple more. Someone suggested to me that I should draw them together into a single sort of Origins collection and put them out that way. It's something to think about.

I had a couple more story ideas, including something really wild last night that essentially involves purposefully breaking that fourth wall a bit. Strangely, this isn't the first time I've experimented with that and the last result was interesting. Something for another day though, as I have more than enough on my writing plate at the moment.

Also a few blog posts.

That's about it for me. How about you? Did you write?

-Julie

Yes, I wrote.

Mostly, still revisions to THE BARD'S GIFT. Also, a couple of crits, two blog posts, and e-published my novelette, "Becoming Lioness".

Nah...another washout week. Busy-busy-busy. I did expend some literary effort on Saturday, but that was just writing up some grievance statements for work. It's a pain, but it's gotta be done.

I did some writing.
I am in the rewrite/editing process on DEMON'S LURE.
I added scenes and expanded others and added 1193 words and two pages. It is improving.

I am now in the big battle scene and have to make my character suffer. That is tough for me. I tend to "walk" through dangerous scenes. It was one thing my first reader complained about.
