Well, I achieved some goals. I have a short story out, and I'm waiting to hear back from IGMS on one (overdue to hear from them, but I'm taking Jamie's advice and waitng patiently). I'm about to break 37,500 on my WIP. I have't had a chance to dig into the outline, but I have given it some thought.

Week Goal: Get Chapter Five done (and, hopefully Part One) and focus on the Collaborative Outline. Mail a couple of shorts out.

How's eveyone else coming?

I'll have another thirty pages back to you this weekend, and I think I'll hit my personal mark for 10 thou by the end of the weekend as well. Maybe. We're supposed to be going to Flag to look at houses Sunday and put a deposit on something. We'll see.

And what the heck is that date thing?

If you're talking about the NGAS dates, we've been doing that--it's the week of...

If not that, I don't know.

I've been doing really well. I'm upt ot almost 13,000 words. I write between five hundred and a thousand each night, which is quite good for me!
I'm taking a break from writing tonight, because the next two chapters are possibly the two most important in the book, or perhaps just the most difficult to write. I took the wrong emotional angle at the end of Chapter 5, so I've got to set myself back on course.
Celeste is a good character to write. Unlike some of my other characters, she doesn't fight when I'm doing her thoughts wrong, just lets me screw up and feel the wrongness for myself.

I'll have Chapter 3 ready to send out sometime tomorrow. (It's been nice to get ahead with the first draft. That way I can stew over the chapters for a bit before I send them out.)

Goals for this week Keep writing for three hours every night, just as I've done, and keep making notes at really random times during the day (like during boring lectures). Also, wrest myself away from Graveyard for a whole hour so I can make my WOTF 2009 Q01 story ready for its first crit.

(Goal for tonight: stop yawning long enough to work on the outline)

IB - maybe Deb is asking why you have the dates in European format.

Because I'm stuffy-headed and not thinking as clearly as I could.

I did allright. I haven't been writing as much as I should. I started my next chapter though and have figured out more things out so I did what I wanted too.

Next goal: finish the chapter I started. My goals seem so weak comparaed to everyone else's.

Nah.

It's a good goal. Good goals are realistic. The more steady you write, the bigger the goals that will be realistic. If you've achieved your goal already, congratulations!

Okay, I'm cheating a little here cause I don't know if I stated my goals earlier. At any rate, I managed to eek out a bit of chapter 5 and am working on the rest of it now before I head off to sleep.

Next week: On to chapter 6! I have an inkling of where I'm going. I can see the next few feet, at least, which is more than I could see before.

Made some progress on the Snowflake method. I'm stuck deciding who to keep in the story with what roles, and who to kill off when, and why. I fear I'll end up with a plot-driven story because my focus is so on the events. Oh well. At least I'm wrestling with the darn thing instead of avoiding.

Remember those daily headaches? I prayed about it on my way to work last Monday, and in a meeting that morning met a safety specialist who had all kinds of ideas. After several ergonomic adjustments, I'm doing better! (Thanks, God.)

Yes, I continued to let my hubby (and son) lure me into the online RPG.

Congrats to everyone else for all your progress! I don't know how you do it.

Goals: keep going, make progress. Avoid excessive distractions.

I'm going slightly bonkers with the move, you guys, with four days and counting. If I owe you a read, do you mind emailing me a reminder? vice-versa, if you owe me one, I have no idea where I left off - every bit of information not directly related to shot records, school transfers, pet deposits and getting more boxes is fled. let me know, and I'll get it to you asap.

Gracias, my patient friends.

Ugh. I was a a very low productivity rate just recently. The internet gods hath smited me -- I was out for six whole days and I use the internet as a complete companion for writing. I warm up with a quick zoom around the usual sites and I keep thesaurus.com and a couple of other resources at the ready as I go through my re-write. I wrote a three parts of a closing re-write and started back at the beginning of chap. 3 and 4, (I lost the re-write of 3 by way of toddler unplugging my laptop and me being unaware.)

so, this weeks goals? Keep on the re-write. I need to git'er done as the saying goes. Realistically, we're going to be doing a wedding thang this weekend so, I'm saying a rewrite of 2 chaps at least between now and then.

Well, I have accomplished some stuff already--I started to focus a bit on the outline and mailed some short stories off--but I haven't finished Chapter 5, but the week's not over yet...

Last week's goal: Have a brilliant idea, finish the rough outline, and start merging all the points of view into one cohesive timeline.

I suppose the 'brilliancy' of my idea is open to interpretation, but I'm pleased with it. I finished the timeline, and now I am just sitting on my hands to keep myself from the actual writing.

Bored Crow, thank you very much for your information about bears. I'm disappointed to find out that their dens stay so cold, although I guess it's probably much warmer than the outside air. You gave me much food for thought.

This week's goal: I'm not sure exactly where this week went, but here it is, already Wednesday. My goals for the next couple of days include doing some light research on surviving in sub zero temperatures and working on my Gen Pets story, which is just goofy, but fun. I may also hit IB up with a few more tattoo questions.

This week's goal? To actually write something.

Sigh.
