Last Week's Goals
I actually didn't do any reading this last week. However, I have spent this week putting together some random scenes for a potential new fantasy novel. I had an idea and I thought about how a group of people would react to this situation. That single question has sparked an entire first act of a new novel. I'm still trying to determine what happens after this first "act" but I came up with one idea yesterday that I want to spend some time developing.
Yeah, finally doing "writing."
My goals for next week:
Outline
I want to concentrate on developing this potential story arc to see if I get a decent story out of it for the next 75% of this novel.

Yay, William for getting back in the swing.
Last Week's Goals:
MAGIC'S FOOL: Finish. Yes! The first draft is done.
MAGE STORM: Let it rest. Wait for feedback. Easy goal.
SEVEN STARS: Let it rest. Another easy goal.
BLOOD WILL TELL: Wait to hear from the agent who has the full ms. Solidify plans for what to do if the answer is no. This one's getting to be not so easy.
BLOOD IS THICKER: No goal for this week. Well, I met that one.
OTHER: Update my blog twice a week. Yes, again. Although both were relatively short posts.
Next Week's Goals:
On the Shelf: THE IGNORED PROPHECY DREAMER'S ROSE
MAGIC'S FOOL: Let it rest until January. Then I can start the second draft.
MAGE STORM: Let it rest. Wait for feedback.
SEVEN STARS: Let it rest.
BLOOD WILL TELL: Wait to hear from the agent who has the full ms. Solidify plans for what to do if the answer is no.

LAST WEEK (mainstream novel): I'd like to have chapters 2 and 3 completely edited and done by this time, next week. Result: I suppose I could be down on myself for missing this goal, but the editing process allowed me to detect a hole in my story line. Not a huge hole, but I don't want it there, so the editing process was temporarily halted.
UPCOMING (mainstream novel): I'll plug that hole, then get back to finishing chapters 2 and 3.
Safe House (science fiction): Thanx to the encouraging feedback I received from the recent Action Scene challenge, I was inspired to bump this novel to the front of the line. I've got over a dozen audio files from this past year that I will transcribe during this next week, and I will probably also attend to any research the story asks for.
SHORTER WORKS: I'm also working on two science fiction short stories, and two flash stories.

I got 5 of 6 queries sent out (and learned that it takes a lot longer than I thought, even after everything is "written"). I also finished my first short story since high school. 1700 words should not have been that painful.
Next week: Send the last query. I'm going to pull out my half-finished draft this week, working title: UNBORN (formerly MINDWALKER). I'll read through what I have, look over the outline and make sure it still works, and hopefully start writing again.

Last Week: I finished my historical research (for now) and ended up with a new character! I also started a basic outline for my story.
This Week: Get to know my two 'sidekick' characters better so that I can continue my outline. And if I am lucky, finish my first basic outline.

Worked on New Mage finally... got to finish that, it's so close. MY MC is sooo close to starting the final battle with very powerful bad guy. I know two scenes I want but the rest of it I will have to decide while I write.
Started revising "Breaking Out". This revision includes rewriting some of the chapter and adding a ground battle and rescue. Which means I get to split the chapter into two. I think it works better with more than seven chapters for 50,000 words.
