Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group (NSG). Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Feel free to update the NSG Work in Progress thread with your current projects. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).

What were your goals last week and did you accomplish them?
Describe what you worked on.
Set goals for next week.
Did you learn something during this week?

Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

Writing on a novel
Characterization
World Building
Relevant research

As for me:

Last Week's Goals:

FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS):
No queries during the holiday week. I didn't have a specific goal, so I guess I met it. [Smile]

BLOOD WILL TELL:Actually e-mail a couple of potential reviewers.
One. [Smile]

BLOOD IS THICKER: Let it cool a bit before going back for the next round.
Easy one. [Smile]

THE BARD'S GIFT: Second draft through to "The End".
Yes! [Big Grin]

MAGE STORM: Wait for reader feedback.
Continuing. [Smile]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

I also want to start taking a look at the next story I'm likely to e-publish next month, "Becoming Lioness".

Yes to both. In fact, I'm almost 3/4 of the way through the revision to "Becoming Lioness". [Big Grin]

Next Week's Goals:

FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS):
I have doubts about the efficacy of querying during the holidays. I think I'll use that time for something else. No queries.

BLOOD WILL TELL:
Actually e-mail a couple of potential reviewers.

BLOOD IS THICKER:
Let it cool a bit before going back for the next round.

THE BARD'S GIFT:
Start the third draft.

MAGE STORM:
Wait for reader feedback.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

Finish the revision of "Becoming Lioness".

Last Week

- Did the first rewrite for Warrior Mage
- Started the background on my next book - On Being an Elf, a historical fantasy set in the early 1800's England and U.S.

This Week
If I can get over this dratted cold:
- Second rewrite for Warrior Mage
- More research on 'Elf'

LAST WEEK
  • TOP NOTCH: finish either the second, third, or fourth Olympic event scene, and tighten up the rest of the story. - The fourth event has been taken care of...but I'll probably break it down again eventually.
  • ORACLE OF SENTRY RIDGE: complete one of the last two scenes, and tighten up the rest of the story. - The middle part of the story is much tighter...at the expense of me never having even touched the last two scenes.
  • NEGATIVE ONE: transcribe more digital audio files. - Success!
  • (unnamed science fiction series): continue world building - Even more success!

THIS WEEK
For at least the next month or two, I'm going to put some effort into a young reader project I've been itching to undertake. Since this is a time sensitive project, so I am throttling back a bit on some of my novel and novella projects.
  • TOP NOTCH: rebuild and complete the opening scene.
  • ORACLE OF SENTRY RIDGE: snooze bar.
  • NEGATIVE ONE: snooze bar.
  • (unnamed science fiction series): continue world building

S!

Worked on just "Second Job."-another working title not yet what I want though.
Finished Chapter five or "Second Job"._ I may finish chapter six at work this week.

My MC is still being chased by Fairy Wolves in chapter six. Not sure about Ch 7 though. It might be the last one.
