Ready for a new month of word counting? 10k's the goal, putting the daily average count at 333 words.
Question for this month:
With the longer, sunshinier days, do you write better, say, in the bright mornings... or do you find yourself outside more and the writing takes a back seat?

Rules:
New words are - One word after the other. Blank words on a white page. From imagination to fingertips.
Rewriting an old story counts if the page is blank. Flash. Short story. Novels - all count toward the total.
Blogs count.
Outlining doesn't count. That helps speed the word count later. (Which is a good thing.) But counting an outline would kind of be like counting the same words twice.
Editing doesn't count. Editing is part of the process and is done independently of word count.

My May was lopsided. Almost nothing early on, then a short story burst, a flash fiction, then the final week or so I hammered out just over 8k on my novel.

I'll be re-starting work on Lavender, probably Monday night, so I'm in. I'll go for a straight 10k.

Okay, Monday night turned into drinks after work. Tonight is unlikely, but tomorrow is my day off. I will restart Lavender then.

Now that I've finished chapter 13 on book 3 and edited it at least 3x, I can move on to ch 14 and get some words in. I dislike heat and it's warming up in Oregon, so I do a little gardening then when it gets hot I spend the afternoon inside typing. I have been typing out all the scenes in my head starting with where I'm at and going on to the end. Need to know which ones are important to the story and which one's can be weeded out --- which I think mean's I'm working on an outline and the 3-4 pages I've written don't count :-(. So, I'll push on to 14 for some real words and report back! KT

I've been working on my Q4 WotF entry. It won't leave me alone mentally, so I figured I'd better write it. I'm hoping to finish it with enough time to get back to my novel and meet my 8k goal. I'm gonna need another 2500 day, me thinks...
Irina, I don't mind leaving word count disciplines up to the individual. However, your separation sounds good. If writing for an audience, it counts. So, a review, posted online, has a sort of fiction quality to it. It's meant to inform and entertain. However, a critique is solely for one person.
I suppose I'd count my reviews at the end of the month if I needed a few hundred more words. But hopefully my stories alone will carry the 10k. Especially this month because I'm doing well.

Irina, Could you totally hear him say that? He says "too young" in the movie, but close enough.
I should have figured you liked FC.
So I'm good this month a few days early. Which is good because I'm scrambling to prepare for my vacation next week. (Which means next month will be extra challenging.)
