I promised myself I'd read the series when it was complete...I gather it has a book or two to go...I've been an admirer of George Railroad Martin's work since the 1970s...but, then, I promised myself the same thing about Harry Potter and haven't gotten around to it yet...
Seeing the movie? Given its bookish origins, I'd probably give it a pass until (and if) I do read the book(s)...

Sean Bean's in it. I don't recall the names, but I wonder if his character (Eddard Stark) is the one whose stupid death made me decide not to read the rest of the books. Once that character was gone, I really couldn't find anyone to care about in the book, even though I promise I tried.
