Does anyone have any idea when the PC release date for this game is. It's been pushed back several times and I was just wondering if any of you have any "inside info". I went to buy it over the weekend and it was STILL not out. so I picked up "Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition). I'd played it before on Xbox and I loved it. The PC version is SOOOOO much better. I literally cannot wait till I can own Oblivion.

I'm not positive that I'm right (don't have a computer capable of playing it, and don't have an XBox 360, so I haven't been paying as much attention as I otherwise would be), but I *think* that's what I've heard.

Amazon and another retail software company both list it as March 20th. My husband wants to draw up a detailed schedule of playing time. I am sending him that link!

Oblivion is shipped March 20th, and will end up in stores however long it takes after that to arrive by freight.

XBox 360 will only set you back the price of a decent graphics card, kwsni. Not that that's cheap, but it's less than a new computer would be.

Does Ethan remind anyone else of Mewn from Funny Farm?
I don't recognize the reference. I started reading the comic, though, because the obsessiveness of Ethan reminded me of my husband. The husband has calmed down a bit, though, while Ethan seems to have gone off the deep end.

Sure, but how well will they perform when running Oblivion? A coworker of mine who writes hardware reviews (and who, the lucky SOB, always has the most current computer equipment at no cost to himself) reports that at Oblivion's highest detail levels even the fastest commercially available hardware has difficulty keeping up.

Hah Calvinball, I need to get my watterson books out again.
Yeah I think trying to run that would melt my 5200, always a good reason to upgrade.
I need to get Oblivion just to make sure Bathesda sticks to the Fallout 3 project. The world has been to long without the gentle pitter patter of super mutants going to battle.

Megan, Mewn is a cat in another comic with a videogame obsession. He's not as bad as Ethan, though. There's more of a plot with FF than with CAD, too. I like them both.
He has a Transformers addiction, too. Maybe I'm more of a Mewn.
Of course, I still haven't finished Morrowind yet - figure I still have a hundred or so hours on that game.

I absorbed about 80% of the western half of Morrowind.
Had serious burn out and a feeling of hopelessness as I realized I still had several miles of landmass to cover on the eastern half of morrowind.
My sister on the other hand, plays every once in a while, but over a year has surpassed my character in every aspect and has kept her sanity because she only plays it once every week or two.
Learn well from thine older siblings.

I let all of my O/C tendencies out on Morrowind - I'm slowly completing all the missions while covering all of the land, and stealing everything everywhere that has a 10-to-1 ratio of price to weight (excepting potion ingredients - they need to be 50-to-1 or better). And yes, that includes both expansion packs.
I also used a couple of cheat codes - but just to let me into all three houses so I could complete all of those quests as well.
I collect all the pretty swords and rings and such, along with a copy of every book, and keep them neatly ordered in my house in Balmora. While my room in real life looks like it exploded...

Just seeing the trailers and magazine articles, hot damn is that going to be an amazing game. I definitly hope that the 360 is cheaper by than, i really dont feel like buying one just for Morrowind and Halo, but if i must i must. Who here has played the other morrowinds?

I just finished reading the new Nvidia 7900 preview over at HardOCP.com and I'm seriously considering getting one of those when I finally DO upgrade. Looks like there are going to be some very good prices when those are released.

I ended up accumulating so much stuff that I made all of Balmora into my domain.
Then the stupid overflow bag came and ate my book collection.
My little brother stole all the pillows in Balmora and then levitated above the city, dropping them all on top of each other. It was pretty cool seeing a stack of pillows 20 stories high.

I don't think it CAN be finished
I agree, I still haven't done all there is to do on the Game of the Year Edition or the original version on Xbox.

Wow, how many people here have taken a look at the new video they have up at www.elderscrolls.com ?
I can see why people complained about the lack of detail far away, but technology isn't yet able to render the amount of detail they're rendering...all the way out to the HORIZON. Frankly being able to see 10 miles is wonderful all the same.

I am so excited for this game. Are they going to have the same character races available to create, as in Morrowind? And does anyone know if you can run with your mount, since I have only seen videos with walking mounts so far?

Same races, as far as I know. And I believe I read that mounts have a walk and run speed on the PC, X360 I think it's based on the analog control pressure.

From what I've seen, I wish the horses weren't quite so...round. Horses have angles! These look a little like they designed them from slightly out-of-focus pictures. And if the gaits are wrong I'm going to have a REAL problem.
But then I'll get over it and play the game into the ground.

3 more days until this game comes out. 3 MORE DAYS!
I so cannot wait for this game. I'm a Morrowind addict (although I still haven't played through a quarter of it). I've preordered the collectors edition of Oblivion, so I should be getting it on Monday. Can't wait can't wait can't wait...

You can play as all the standard Tamriel races, but the double-jointed legs you saw on the Khajit and Argonians in Morrowind have been replaced by standard human legs. They could pull off a lot more animations that way, so as much as I liked watching my Argonian skip across the water with his weird little gait, in the end, it's probably worth it.

Does that mean if I preorder it on the internet now, I will receive it on Monday? Or would it likely be after Monday?
