This is something like a stock market, only you are putting in fake money for stock in celebrities, movies, songs, artists and what not. The more popular what you pick, the better your stock.
So I am proposing a challenge to see who can do the best in 7 months. This gives enough time for LotR's: RotK to get out (cause we all know it will be a huge success).
If you think you can win, go ahead and post on this thread.

Well, I joined. fugu13 as my username (sorry T, didn't think to put your name in or I would've).
I'm taking my usual course, and doing hideously risky things with fake money. If it works, I'm filthy stinking rich. Otherwise I'm not.

I think Mr. Bloom is a safe bet for other reasons.
My main strategy is to short some things I think will bomb horribly, backed up with smaller buys in a couple films I'm pretty certain will outperform expectations.

Thanks T, I needed another thing to distract me from working! I put your name in as a reference. Invest the $ well!

I don't like that it only updates the leader board once a day. I'm actually almost back to the starting amount of money in one day. This is fun.

Buy Bruce Almighty and Xmen2 warrants! Both of these are right now guaranteed money makers. Each has a price + strike price less than the current box office take. That means there is no way to lose money (neglecting brokers fees, but while exorbitant they're less than what you'll make on the deal).

Ocean's Twelve has been a mover. Glad I grabbed that yesterday. I think I diversified a bit too much, so I'll have to trim my portfolio a bit.

Sweeeet. 52% growth for the 'Put' on Bad Boys 2. Guess I'm not the only one betting it won't make $65 million.

Ooh, I just had a good idea. It's possible to max out on Matrix Reloaded Warrants (strike @ 300) for a mere $600 (total), because the matrix reloaded is at 272 and change and not rising very fast at all (at this rate it's going to be at only around 280). However, the release date for revolutions is the fifth! If the film surges in the weekend before it's sequel comes out, in comes the moolah. And if it doesn't, I'm out $600. Oh no.

Having a fairly weak day today...only up about 5k. I dumped some losers, and am seriously considering dumping the actor bonds, they don't seem to be of much help unless you catch somebody 'hot'. Ocean's Twelve, which I grabbed early, has been my big winner again.

Apparently, T_Smith has been raking in some of those bonuses. I really need some people to sign up through me.

No league per se, you just add everybody's names to your league. How are you up so much? Did you refer someone?

honestly, about half of that is Bruce Almighty. but alot of my smaller pick ups are doing really well. Pirates of the Caribean was a great buy for me too.

I think I diversified too much...I'm trimming my holdings to the items that are really profitable. Ender's Game has kicked butt, probably due to the fact that I bought 50,000 shares of it. Ocean's 12 and King Arthur have been winners too.

My handle was taken, so I'm in as PookilyDoo. Haven't figured out what I'm doing, yet, though...
