It's sad, I know, but the school's one of the best in Jerusalem, and it's religious (otherwise my grandmother would drop dead). There certainly are the good sides, but there are also the bad sides and the problems with such circumstances.
One of them is the inter-sexual social situation. Not being fully exposed to a bi-sexual environment, I do get psychologically developed in a different way, and that I must stop.
The fist step in constructing a relationship is empathy.
So I need common grounds with virtually any woman. As it's happening now (according to stereotype, that are statistically true were I live and interact), women are centred around clothes, cellphones and hair.
Clothes I have; but since they are constructed differently and I am hopeless in fashion. That is something I can't really help.
My cellphone was stolen.
Hair I have; and though it has little in common with women's hair, it's got more in common than clothes.
So I have to choose between the three. Hair is what I have to learn more about in order to empathise with women and not be left in totally different worlds. Proposition:
quote: Do I now have the longest hair on Hatrack???
Several women's threads about hair have been posted on Hatrack, and some wanted a hair contest.
Since I need to learn more and empathise (and Raia can guarantee I've tried to overcome my typical criticism of women and their hair), I propose that this contest be done, and I'll judge (as practice for my empathic plan).
Procedure:
Every female between the ages of 5 and 95 (and Bob_Scopatz, if too persistent, nya!) may enter a photo (or more) with her hair down - as much as possible of it seen. Rough dates or times are necessary to be mentioned, and any information of trims or haircuts is to be added. Moreover, one can add info of friends and their photos (not that there should be any reason, but just to cover the legal holes), and inform the appropriate information as well.
The results will be announced by me, and thy have absolutely no purpose aside from trying to make you females compete again for prestige (based on the quote that "long hair is hot", again - Bob_Scopatz), and I gain some empathic feelings regarding these weird strands that our head produces.
Request:
Who's in, so I can become a more empathic person, which is Hatrack's aim?

Between pictures of women with hair (as opposed to bald women, I suppose), empathy, and your ability/inability to have relationships with females.

quote: Conventional psychology does not apply to me.
Seeing the pictures and judging will give me a bit of an understanding, and hopefully a type of empathy. Heck, if men go wild over women's hair, there must be something about it, no?
I believe that this unconventional method will bring me to empathy, hopefully sympathy. Then, having a more extensive base of women-psychology understanding and a base for discussion, I will be a more understanding person about women, and less ignorant.
I scored as an "empathic male" on the personality test that was posted here. According to BBC, women are more empathic than men, and I am rather empathic for a man. Why not widen that span?

He has a hair fetish. This is just a ploy for him to be able to see lots of luscious, silken, Jatraquera locks.

There are erotica sites for that. So that really isn't a claim. Why else would I post it here?

Well, you've seen my picture (and met me in person), and I'm lazy, but I can definitely vouch for you as having tried to overcome your hair preconceptions.
The thread made me giggle too.

I am amused at your "quest" though. I also don't get how looking at a bunch of hair will help you to get along with women better.

The question is, are you just saying that to make me feel better and calm me down, while you're secretly e-mailing everyone with a member number of #1 to #7600 (except for #6934) and all others on your contact lists in order to warn them of Jonathan Howard and his secret sexual addiction to long-haired women?
Because, let me tell you: that is unacceptable!
As for your second question - it's the best thing I thought of, and the explanation is above. If you have a better suggestion (I tried all conventional ones), I'd be more than glad to hear it.

See, there are sites on the web that profile long hair, too. You can have all the pictures of women's long hair that you want. E.g., The Long Hair Site and Longhairlovers.com. Persons with long hair can find excellent recommendations there for products and accessories.
Okay, now I feel like a pimp.

I'm a sucker for girls with long hair, especially long curly hair. Mostly becuase my ex girlfriend had long curly beautiful brown hair that reached down to the small of her back, and when she straightened it, it went beneath her thighs.
Not necesarily a fetish, more like a preference.
Then again, I'm not seeking out photos of every longhaired girl on Hatrack...

She might as well know cars, video games, and sports (which she might, depending on the woman). The truth is, you're going to adjust unconsciously. No matter what you know, you're going to have to develop a social part of you that's not knowledge and words. You have little control over this directly. You have to be interesting and fun, and that only comes with experience. You could be the guru on hair and geek it up. Chances are, if you're fun with guys, you can be fun with girls, too (Note the phrase chances are).
Enough of my idiot man-speak *shuffles out under heavy fire.*

I'm not weirded out by the focus on hair. But I don't think you can relate to women by running a contest to judge them by their appearance.
Perhaps a better tactic is to ask women to share stories of why/if they view hair differently than men do.

Hey, BOH, the women started the competition.
Interestingly enough, not one didn't start by questioning my motives (except those who left the thread).
