Hey all, your friendly neighborhood Lyrhawn here with an important announcement.
I'd like to start the creation of a Hatrack netflix like creation. Everyone should post here movies, books, dvds, cds, whatever that they have always wanted to see, but can't find or don't want or whatever.
Also, people should list things they have that they love and highly recommend and would be willing to mail to other people.
People will still have to pay for postage, but otherwise it will be totally free, and with the combined power of Hatrack's media library, we should be able to watch, read and listen to pretty much anything and everything!
I know some people are already interested in the idea. So, all who are on board, post here!

Nice idea Lyrhawn. In fact, you can just drive all of your DVDs over to my homestead. It's slightly cheeper than mailing, but then you could stalk me.

Maybe we should just do it personally... don't swear here, but if you're interested, contact the other person involved one-on-one. That might solve problems like that.

Okay, I can do a blood oath. Will swearing on my daughter's life be good enough?
I had a dream last night that I had to take care of your youngest two because you broke your leg in five places and had to be in traction. And I kept thinking, "Where are her parents? Doesn't she have friends? I know they have friends..." Not that it was that much of a nightmare. Just really, really weird, as, not that I'm denigrating myself here, but I don't think I'm your first choice to care for your children in the case of your being injured.

What did I do with my oldest? And how did I break my leg?

I'm a little dubious about the economics of book-sharing via the USPS -- isn't postage both ways going to pretty much equal what buying it at your local used book store would cost, nevermind getting it out of your local library?

The only reason I can't see this working is because the bare minimum cost to safely ship a DVD is about $2.20, including a bubble mailer, assuming it's one disc and has a single page insert, and you'd have to pay that each way - and five DVDs later, you've covered the cost of a month of netflix.

Well, what if it is a regional sort of thing, like people near each other...
I have firefly also. CD 1 is lent out to a coworker right now though. Everyone should watch the firefly DVD's before watching the Serenity movie.

The cost part was actually why I wasn't signing up. I can buy any DVD here cheaper for what you would have to pay to mail it to someone in a neighboring state. So, I think I'll resume my usual activity of watching pirated DVDs. Posts: 8355 | Registered: Apr 2003

Or available... When Shadow of the Giant came out, it was already on hold for a couple weeks before I could get it at the library. And something that new doesn't show up in used book stores, and at a place like Borders, it's around $25. If anyone has a copy of "Fluppies" I would very much like to borrow it. It would be very nostolgic and I would like my 2 year old son to see it with me. I think Leonide said they had a copy. Will pay for shipping.

Unfortunately, unicorn, i haven't the faintest idea where that movie could be. Mostlikely, it was thrown out when my family moved out of our house a few years back.

Several universities have been busted for plagiarizing plagiarizing policies--that is, they stole the text of their plagiarizing policies from other schools.

Rivka, I hope your leg is healing well. I assume you must be out of traction by now, but you haven't really been very good about posting updates on your condition. Just know that you have a lot of us out here praying and sending out good thoughts to you.
