Has anyone here been on Hatrack as long, or longer, than me (August 2001), and posted less than I have (378 posts)?

I am on Hatrack every day, multiple times usually, but I may hold the record for oldest still-active member with the fewest posts.

Am I allowed to have a landmark thread when my posts reach 400? [Razz]

Heh, I think I would be a candidate, but you have me beat on fewer posts. I have also lurked pretty regularly since I joined, but posted little. This would be because a) usually someone else has already made the point I would have made and worded it better; and b) since I can read perhaps 50 posts during the time it would take me to compose a single one, reading seems as a much more efficient use of my time [Wink] .

This fledgling Hatracker has no problem with the idea.

I have been on Hatrack for two years longer than you, and I have 1533 posts. So you are far more the lurker than I am. I think I'll have a landmark next June at eight years of hatracking.

The sign up date for several posters, including e.g. me and Tom, seems to be incorrect on that list.

Note: by increasing the listed time I've been on this forum, my posts per month value will actually DROP (assuming it's otherwise correct), thus increasing your lead. *grin*

Wow, I've been posting a lot lately.

Right now I'm at 40.7 ppm with 2688 posts. Last December I was only around 1500 posts - or 27 ppm.

Looking back to my only landmark in 2003, I was at about 27.8 ppm back then.

Damn cubicle job has certainly elevated my addiction.

Yeah, Tom, I know. Moreover, a casual inspection of our post counts and join dates make it clear that I must average more posts than you.

Was I supposed to include a [Wink] j/k?

Man, a landmark is way too much work. I'll just let my post slowly accumulate and then I'll cash them all in for *real* money! Oh boy! I can't wait for the payout, it'll be millions and millions and...what's that? Hatrack posts aren't worth hundreds of dollars a post?

No, it can't be true!

I wonder how many of you old folk who post little are in fact alts?

Cause I find it rather hard to believe that there are that many people who lurk that consistently and have been around that long with that few posts.

Course if there are then... wow.

Oh wow... I'm at 62.45 ppm. That's a lot more than I'd expected. That's a little more than 2 a day.

Every time I see one of these "Who's the Lurkiest Lurker of them All?" threads I wonder if it will be the time I post. Nobody ever offers a prize, though, and who wants to ruin perfect lurker status without even getting a prize I ask you? Well here I am stepping forward to claim the lurker crown, whether there's a prize or not. Is there a prize? Is the crown the prize? Do I get a lifetime supply of Turtle Wax? *Returns to his Lurker Box*

Aaron wins the prize for having the ultimate member number. [Hail]

Actually it's a double meaning. The one I usually give is "I was looking for a pen name", which people groan at. The second is DEFINITELY from Number of the Beast. Sharpie has been my hero since I first read that at age something like 13.

Lyrhawn... you take your registered date... from that you find the number of months you've been here... then you do this thing called division: divide # of posts by # of months. Bingo! Post per month. [Razz]

PPM = posts per month.
If you divide the number of posts you've made to date by the number of months since you joined, you'll be able to get this figure.

Mikey, on his main account, has only 182 posts, which calculates out to two posts a month. I don't know if he still lurks here, though. I know he read the site as recently as December two years ago. On his alternate account, he has only about thirty posts, which comes out to fewer than .4 posts per month.

I was going through user-numbers, and it brought back the memories.

Oooooh, I get it. See, I thought there was actually a way you could check and see like how many posts you made in November or something. This is just an average.

I didn't even post for the first three or four months I was signed up, not more than a dozen or two posts.

I had something way, way more complicated in mind. [/unnecessary complexity]

Most of my posts have come in the last few months, having been a little ashamed at my grand lurker status. I started on the old AOL Hatrack and managed to lurk on the new site for a few years before I felt compelled to register in order to say something. Some drivel about memes if memory serves...

FG, The A Long Time Ago! dates mean the user was migrated over to the current message board software from the old, non-compatible one. The Big Mouth Lion -> UBB migration.
