I have been an insomniac the last few weeks too. I'm thinking of going back to school and taking a cobal theory class- the reading in computer science always put me to sleep.

Heh, I would *so* be tempted to come over just to surprise you, but 3 other people are counting on me to synthesize their parts together for a 10 page paper that's due tomorrow.

So, crazy question for all you night owls. Do you think I should wash the dirty dishes now or wait until tomorrow when I am actually - hopefully - able to sleep? (Which means of course then they would be put off for another day . . . *grin*)

Silly, silly woman, never work when you can't sleep in the wee hours of the morning!
You are morally obligated to watch old movies, worry over problems that are beyond your control and come to brilliant conclusions that will be completely forgotten by morning. If you must "work", I suggest baking an apple pancake then inviting the rest of us sleep deprived folks over to share it with you.

LadyDove, an apple pancake sounds delightful! I happen to have all the fixin's - however, in order to make one in my cast iron pan, I would need to wash some dishes and clean the kithen a bit . . . hmmm - this must be the sort of predicament you referred to.
Actually, I solved a work-related conundrum last night when the insomnia grabbed me for a couple of hours after a three hour nap. That was rather fun.

Tater, I refuse to look at those links in case I actually do get some sleep this evening and then have a nightmare. Hmphh. (grin)

::laughing:: I hope you get a few hours of shut-eye. I'll be thinking of you as I watch reruns on Nick-At-Night.

I'm going to go read some from "The Horse and His Boy." (So I'm a little slow getting into the series, the point is that I'm getting there.)

I made cinnamon raisin bread and am planning to take it a family I know this afternoon. Maybe that will help.

grin, I haven't read any of the three. I guess the question is whether you want to go to sleep or stay awake... The problem is that you can't acutally read a good author, because you'll start enjoying it too much and not be able to put the book down. I've heard Billy Budd is also good for insomnia therapy... especially according to my roommate who had to write a paper on it.

Huh...there's something going around, because I'm having wicked problems with falling asleep and staying asleep. Even with seroquel and even when I tried increasing the dose. o_O

Here's an insomnia forum! And it only has three members so the Hatrack Insomniacs can easily take over. Mwahahahaha. The owner might even thank us for livening up the place.

It should be an insomniac council. It's like the Jedi council, with all of us in a room, or in a room with monitors each with one of our faces on it and a moveable webcam so we can see the other monitors...of course we'd have to have a webcam in our homes, too.
Then we could have MEC come in and we'd tell him that he can be on the council, but we would not grant him the rank of master because he doesn't know how to use lowercase letters...

It's three a.m. here and I'm so sleepy I could die. But I'm trying to solve a computer problem before I leave for New York, so I'm kind of trapped ...
Got to go to bed ... sleep ... sleep ...
I did watch Hero tonight, though, so maybe I'm unconsciously refusing to sleep in order to avoid dreams of people flying at me with swords.

I've watched Sin City yesterday and this is - I think - only the second time that a movie that I just saw made it to my dreams the night after it. I mean, usually I can go through horror movies and sleep like a baby, but this one... Probably because it got me all excited?! That's scary too, that such a film could get me in the state I was yesterday... And no, I don't remember exactly what the dream was about.

Still up here. Writing my paper for my research so I can turn it in tomorrow and then graduate next week.
