The definite nights are Friday and Saturday. Sunday is optional and I have no idea what people decided. We have the hospitality room Friday Saturday and Sunday I don't know if that means we have to be out Monday morning or out Sunday night. I don't think it will make a huge difference if we don't trash the place and be annoying, but if we are annoying of course they'll kick us out on the dot.

Should I reserve my room for Sunday night? I am leaving on Monday, but wondering if when we consolidate will I move?

The K-girls' room is booked for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. (Didn't know what you two were planning, kat and Kama, but I knew I was planning on staying there then.) But I gather I will have you lovely ladies as company that night as well -- yay!
*blink* kat, you have a tuba?

Then I plan to blatantly lie on my nametag.
Oh. So does that mean that I'm supposed to pretend I don't already know what you look like?

But I'm not that good an actress, so if I'm supposed to be pretending not to recognize celia, I need to start practicing now.

I cannot stay 'til Monday. I must leave Sunday. I have skipped waaaaaaaay too many German classes as it is. I will be happy to reserve the room for another night, though, and trust you to pay for the extra night you stay. Or the hotel might have a way for you guys to extend the reservation for the room even though I'm leaving. Let me know what I can do to help!

Rich, dude, feel free to usurp my spot in the Frisco room. It looks like my last chance to get to Kamacon just fell through the floor, tragically killing a man bathing two stories below me, so my spot's vacant. Assuming Frisco et. all have room and haven't yet filled it up themselves.
But I wouldn't worry. If there's one thing about Frisco, he always has room for one more. You should hear the boys talk.

I have to leave pretty early on Sunday, because I have to work again at midnight. But I'll be back on the board then! Yay..?

Have we confirmed, by the way, that the television provided has inputs appropriate for video game consoles?

My question -- are we planning on anything "dressier" than just regular hanging-around activities? I mean, do I need to bring anything fancier than jeans to wear? (katharina's post made me think of this....)

Other than if you're going to Church I don't think so... though if you're taking Annie's tour of teh art museum there's probably some sort of dress code there, like shirts required.

I'm pretty sure it does, it actually comes with a keyboard so you can webtv tom so if its got that I would think video games would work on it. They are pretty new tvs tom.
Actually, I'm a little concerned about bringing things. We're on the list for a lot of board games and other entertainments, but it's occurred to me that we're going to be packing our own bags, a stroller, a carseat, and Bernard's bags -- and Bernard -- into our car. This intimidates me, since we have a Geo.
Would anyone else in the Madison/Illinois area be interested in driving our games down FOR us? If somebody's got a vehicle with some room, we'd gladly meet up with you a few days before the event and give you the things we'd like to bring.

I'm bringing Apples to Apples with a couple expansions and some custom cards, Groove and probably DDRMax.
Bill won't let me take Catan. He's sure I'll toss it out a window on the drive back and claim ya'll lost it.

Self-portraiture. I'm also in some of Tom's and Jamie's photo albums, somewhere.
So. DDR. I brought it to the Hatrack Ladies' Sleepover, as I was dying to play it with other folks, but alas, we never got around to it. I brought it to the weekend at dkw's, but again, we never got around to it. To say I have been looking forward to FINALLY playing it with my fellow jatraqueros at KamaCon is an understatement.
A week and a half ago I sprained my ankle. BAD.
The ankle is healing. It doesn't hurt much, and I can walk on it without limping, but it's still swollen, and I'm afraid to put TOO much pressure on it. All I can say is that it'd BETTER be fully healed by KamaCon, or I will be very, very upset.
AJ, even though it is a newer TV, that doesn't necessarily mean it can handle a game console. Hotel TVs can be weird like that. If I find the time, I'll call today to verify that we can hook it up okay. I know with my PSX all I need is an RCA connection; not sure what a PS2 requires, though. I *think* it can do RCA, but does it also have an S-video connector, if that is an option? Anyone? Bueller?

I'm planning on bringing Settlers of Catan and the 5-6 Player expansion. Sadly I don't have Cities and Knights yet, it is so fun. I hope I can fit it in my bag, should be able to. I am not checking any luggage, just carry on.
quote:With all these games I also wonder if anyone is actually going to make it into Chicago...
Annie is very restless and has very little patience for video games. She will be doing as much Chicagoing as possible, and anyone is welcome to accompany her.

That was my one complaint about WenchCon. I love Atlanta, and had wanted to visit the city proper, even if it was on my own one morning. I didn't realize how far we'd be from the city, though. I still had a lot of fun sitting and chatting with everyone, so I don't regret missing out on seeing the city TOO much.
Of course KamaCon is a bit different, since I live here, and can see the city any old time. But I'd still love to see it with my fellow jatraqueros. Personally, I was planning on doing my gaming on Friday and late in the evenings, and spending most of Saturday and Sunday out of the hotel, or whatever finances allow me to do.
