There's no way T is making that much money. I think he's involved in insider trading. Let's audit him.

Yeah, me too. For no apparent reason, my Bruce Almighty and X-Men II warrants are dropping. Hello! They're bound to make money! Why are they losing money now?

I'm up about $30,000 so far today. Below average, but tolerable, especially as the high risers are leveling off and a lot of my investments are targetted at the long run.

I bought big into FFour, and made $100,000 on it, but am loosing it now.
But hey, my Rowan Atkins is back to normal, with his new movie coming out friday it should peak soon.

Whew, starting to recover. I switched from owning Tomb Raider today to holding short on it. Already made me 2.5k back. Posts: 5422 | Registered: Dec 2001

Yeah, uh-huh. We all know that you're just registering multiple usernames so you can get bonuses for referring your friends. Maybe Martha Stewart will save you a spot in prison, Mr. Insider Trader Guy!

Wow, I haven't checked till now, but I got 1.1 million off them. 11 people. Still, I've earned 500,000, even if the rest was gotten through refering people.

I'd rather not receive friends' money. That way I feel legitimate. Also, since I've got just about the same as T_Smith in earned income as a percentage of seed money, I feel pretty darn good about my performance.

I started out pretty crappy, but have made some decent money since then. I think hatrack has pushed the Enders Game stock up . I personally own quite a bit of it.
I made 30 grand today, pretty much entirely with Kiera Knightly. It doesn't take a genius to know that her career is on its way up. If I had started a month ago when she came out in Bend it like Beckham, I would have made a fortune on her.

If you're ralking about a blockbuster warrant on Bruce Almighty, I'd suggest buying more (if you can). The strike price + warrant price is less than the current total box office. You're guaranteed to make money.

Heehee...Robin Williams is doing surprisingly well, considering he's not doing a damn thing right now. I knew i loved that man.

Dang. Pooka's doing well, especially considering she started late. But at least my stocks have turned around. Not counting Thor, it looks like I'm in third.
So who all is playing? I've got Thor, Fugu, T_Smith, Strider, TheTick, Pooka, Saxon, Prolixshore, and Dan_raven in my league. Is that everyone?

I'm still trying to figure it all out. I've been sick the last few days and haven't been able to do much. But I'm worth about 20,000 more than I started with. No where in the league of some of you granted but I'm happy Posts: 1132 | Registered: A Long Time Ago!

Stupid Seabiscuit traders! I know it's going to do well, why is the stock going down (it's not very highly valued)?!!?
Stupid day traders.
Oh well, I'll make it back. I'm still up 60 thousand odd on the day, despite the loss of 40 thousand or so on that.

Wish I'd done that earlier. ROTK was good when I first got it, but now - ouch! Seabiscuit is kicking me while I'm down. Ender's game went up again today though, which is keeping me in the black. Posts: 5422 | Registered: Dec 2001

You'll likely pull ahead in the short term, I'm taking some hits on stocks which will do well, but aren't right now.

My Bruce Almighty and X-Men II warrants have been pretty up and down, though it looks like they're going more up than down at the moment. I guess we'll see what happens by the time Labor Day rolls around.

Question, Whale Rider is a great artsy movie, but it probably won't be a good money maker. Is $$ the only thing that determines value here?

well, that's not exactly true. popularity after release has a big effect too. as well as expected earnings.
case in point. if i had sold off Bruce Almighty warrent twice, and bought it back twice at opportune moments i'd have made an extra 80k or so off that movie. all because of natural fluctuations in the market. Posts: 8741 | Registered: Apr 2001

Fluctuations aren't always caused by popularity, but utility. Once something has made me money, I can sell it and buy something newer with more potential profit. Enough people doing that would cause a drop in a stock (say if we all sold Ender's Game) that isn't due to popularity.
Besides, don't the stocks get adjusted due to their box office take?

Box office draw is only part of it. Like the real stock market, the price is determined by what everyone else thinks its worth. Sort of like baseball cards or comic books.
Box office gains, popularity, quality, and cool factor all play a part .
