I don't know how to love him. What to do, how to move him. I've been changed, yes really changed. In these past few days, when I've seen myself, I seem like someone else. I don't know how to take this. I don't see why he moves me. He's a man. He's just a man. And I've had so many men before, In very many ways, He's just one more.

There's a ship out on the ocean at the mercy of the sea. It's been tossed about, lost and broken, wandering aimlessly. And God somehow you know that ship is me.

I always thought of a line as being how the singer phrased it, where the pauses were, or where the singer changed if there's more than one vocalist. So if we're quoting "Bohemian Rhapsody", then "Bismillah, NO" is one line and "Will you let me go" is another, because different people are singing each of those. Of course, the two-line restriction for copyright issues does make things more challenging at times...
And Janis just happened to be on the radio when I read yours Me love classic rock best

'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free, 'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be, And when we find ourselves in the place just right, 'Twill be in the valley of love and delight. When true simplicity is gain'd To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd, To turn, turn will be our delight 'Till by turning, turning we come round right.

Thank you, kq, for reminding us on this thread that two lines is the max for copyrighted works. All, please keep it to two lines from here forward.

(I also tacitly reminded everyone that you may quote as much as you like of a song not under copyright-- 1923 or before, I believe. Have fun, all.)
