I don't know if this has been discussed before or not, but I was rereading my copy of Children of the Mind when I came across something that makes absolutely no sense. I have the paperback 1996 edition, if that helps.

The error is on p. 196, when Valentine is trying to convince Novinha to let Ender go. Plikt comes in and she says,

"I room. What's happening?"

And here is my question- What on earth does 'I room' mean?!!

I guess that if there's a later edition of the book it would be corrected there, but unfortunately I don't have that . . . so, any help with this enigma would be greatly appreciated [Smile]

Huh... I have the same thing in my copy. And I never even noticed it.... I suppose it might be an absurd typo...

My hardback version says the same thing, but I have a .txt version of it which is changed to "I heard." Whether that's an official change or just one made by the person typing. Anyway, it's not hard to figure out the basic intent.

In my Polish version, it's translated to "I went out to the toilet".

So perhaps the original was "I was in the ladies room"?

Huh. I guess that makes sense. But who actually says "I was in the ladies room"? [Razz]

(I mean vs. "I was in the bathroom", or something like that . . .)

People are not infallible. You are not either. Editors and writers are not perfect. [Dont Know]

I stand admonished! However, I didn't think that I was saying anything of the sort (That is, that I'm perfect). It's just that that error had been bothering me for a long time and I wanted to know what it meant . . .

Just to throw in my comlete paranoia, someone could have hacked into Cards comp and changed that one piece of information... Just to be mean. hehe

Also, In Enders Game, pg. 177, it mentiens "Bonzo's misuse of ender wiggin."
In actuality it was Rose de nose's misuse. I only noticed because my bother outlined it and said ROSe the noes. [Wall Bash]

Telp, could you explain that phrase to me please? I know it's some sort of gamer reference, and I've seen the "all your (blank) are belong to us" line in lots of different variations, but every time I do it drives me crazy because I feel like I should know what they're talking about. Am I not a real gamer if I don't know what that means? [Dont Know]
