Because they were going to crop up before the day's out anyway, I might as well be the one that starts them. This way we keep them confined to one thread.

Oh - and only forum time counts, regardless of what time zone the poster is in.

What I'm really worried about is the number of jatraqueros sitting topless before their computers when the ball drops.

Another point - no deleting allowed.

Play the game fair, or don't play at all.

Now we get to see who are the real losers who don't have anything planned for New Year's Eve other than hanging out on an internet forum.

Yes, I'm one of them - Wes is at the station tonight, so it's just me and the kids at home and I'm not going to take all four of them anywhere. Especially not in this weather - lots of rain today and tonight.

You don't want me posting at midnight tonight. It would shatter any image you might have of me, and that's unacceptable.

So I'll have my nephew's pet salamander post instead...

Noooooo...then they'll think it's ME. It's been said that my posting style mimics that of a salamander.

I'm working odd hours tonight that I created for myself, just to get out of working in the morning. I hate our local IFS department. Their slave drivers.

And I only need to stay up until 9 to get the last post in! I suppose being on the west coast has some extra benifits..

Maeth, your impostor uses the username Maethorieii with uppercase I's that look like L's in the forum font.

Sadly, users like that make it look like reopening registrations wasn't a good idea.

<edit>I'm about to finish The Two Towers in a couple hours.. Perhaps I could read the third really really quickly.. No, I admit defeat. *cheers for jehovoid*</edit>

I think the four of us in our household have collectively given up on the fireworks.

We got in at 11:25 for a quick respite, but have decided we're too plumb tired.

I do intend to stay awake for a while, as I have begun cooking rice for homemade sushi rolls (nothing raw, but tasty stuff).

Just got home from work. Time for a nice cup of Sleepytime (cue whistling teakettle). And read a bit before bed.

What? Fireworks? New Year's? Huh. News to me.
