For God's sake, whatever you do, don't click on these links if you are eating, recently have eaten, or thinking about eating in the near future!

Now, in a few posts, I think we can actually say what's in the articles, however, I thought some warning was necessary. [Smile]

That was truly gross.

Wasn't it Chaeron that posted a link to a site that had pictures of a man in the East with Cerebral Myiasis?

Now that was some nausea, as I recall. BLEH.

Thank you, Kayla, for reminding me of The Botfly Incident of 2002. Our little kitten had this strange lump on her neck. We took her to the vet. The vet said, "Just watch it."(she knew, Kayla, she knew what we were to watch, but did not tell us.)

A few days later, the area was a raw, open wound, and very infected-looking, so we brought her back in. The vet said, "Oh, yeah, just what I thought. A botfly. You should see how gross it is when we have to remove them!"

She Knew!! And this is what she knew:

http://entomology.unl.edu/images/botflies/rodentbot1.jpg

Ahhhh. Botflies lay their eggs in the entrance to rodent holes. Rodents breath them in. They grow under the skin, then hatch through the skin.

And they happen to humans.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I watched a TV show where two people related their botfly stories... It scarred me for life...

On anther note... Anyone reminded of The Mummy?

Yes, but one has nothing to do with the other. [Wink]

Apparently, they were talking about it today on the radio. My husband asked me to find out if it was true, so I did. [Razz]

Thank you Kayla :-)

My eyebrow shot up in morbid fascination. I could easily see myself with a pair of forceps and a net, with this excited look of intrigue on my face, trying to capture a live specimen.

I just hope this poor boy is ok.

Kayla,

this was a very surprising post from someone who got creeped out from some harmless information I gave out on dust mites.

Actually, I think I can deal with anything after the tongue (and other parts best unmentioned) piercing thread.

"It is I" would be grammatically incorrect in almost any (if not all) situation(s). It think it's because "I" should not be the object, rather when it's the object you're talking about, it should be "me."

Yeah, stuffy formality, that's me. [Wink]

mack, you need tips on how to be governmentally certifiable?

Actually, the government has that relativly new program "Ticket To Work." Now, I just need to figure out how to use it. I still think I'd be pretty good doing something online.

Grrr. I tried to find the right part of Jack Lynch's site to back me up -- but it won't load. Most likely because he is hosted by Rutgers, and I have a feeling their servers are currently down. [Wink]

Thanks, Icarus. [Smile]

Actually, I find it incredibly amusing to be on this side of the argument. For years my mom has been correcting me every time I say, "and me." I had this site marked originally because I showed it to her to back up my claim that both versions were considered acceptable now. [Big Grin]
