Hi! I am relativly new to hatrack and this is my first topic, hence the title. What I have here is silly question. The office secratary asked me the other day to come up with a list of catch-frases from 80's Tv shows. Think y'all can help?

So far we have come up with:

"Wacho talkin' bout Willis?"-- Different Strokes
"I pity da foo" -- Mr T., A-team
"Did I do that?" --Steve Urkle, Family Matters

Thanks!

However stupid or obscure, you can depend on that someone else on the world wide web has done it first.

I'm reasonably certain that it was just "Thunder, thunder, thundercats - HO!" No extra cats.

"You remind me of the babe."
"What babe?"
"The babe with the power."
"What power?"
"The power of the voodoo."
"Who do...?"
"You do."
"Do what?"
"Remind me of the babe."

Obviously being born in the 80s doesn't make one a child of the 80s, the only TV I watched then was Sesamie Street...

I have noticed that those born in 1986 or later tend to be children of the nineties. (If such a thing exists.)

that's because being born in the 80's and *living* through the 80's are two different things.

Ah, but you see, despite being born in '87, my TV viewing in the early nineties consisted largely of 80's reruns.

Is that from Labyrinth? Anyway, it's a bastardization of a wordplay that had previously appeared in a Cary Grant/ Shirley Temple movie called The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer, so I don't know if it could be considered an '80s catchphrase. This was the earlier version:

"You remind me of a man"
"What man?"
"A man with a power"
"What power?"
"The power of Hoodoo"
"Hoodoo?"
"You do"
"Do what?"
"Remind me of a man..."

The pun makes a lot more sense in that version.

Anyway, as far as '80s catch phrases:

"By the power of Greyskull, I have the power!" -He Man
"Oh, boy" -Quantum Leap
"Well, isn't that special?" -SNL
"Yeah, that's the ticket" -SNL
"You look mahvelous" -SNL
"That's the news and I am outahere" -SNL

Seems like I could come up with an inexhaustable list of SNL-related '80s catchphrases, but I'll stop now.
