Years ago, there was a thread on gender issues, concerning those who aren't Male or Female, but somewhere in between or in transition.

One question that arose was about male-turned-to-female acceptance in competitive sports. Well, here is an article in which a man-turned-to-woman will be playing in the Women's Golf tourney in Australia. It seems she has been well received, and hasn't been having any problems in being accepted in the women's tournament.

On the subject of alternative gender roles in sports:

Iron Ladies

Haven't seen it but have heard good reviews from my fiance.

There were talks about a skiier (male to female) as well. S/he wanted to be able to compete in the Olympics, and I'm pretty sure they said no (but I forget, i remember talking abouit this article, but not the article itself, odd) anyway, i don't think it should be allowed, competitions get copmletely outa whack at that point
