Matt and Jamie are in NY visiting and they came over tonight to have dinner and play Scrabble ( evil Scrabble). Matt brought two wines from NJ, and they were really good. Really Good. Okay, the Almond one was better than the Blackberry one, but I drank some of both and now I am sleepy and they are gone (went back to the hotel). I have to stay up for a little while to drink water (so I don't have a headache in the morning), and everyone is asleep except for me.
Dangit.
And Jamie turned very, very pink this evening from laughing and also being embarrassed. Hooray!
And I talked to Olivet on the phone a little bit (and Matt talked to her A LOT). Hee! What fun. Olivia is very nice.

Well, the details are kind of hazy right now... something about a cucumber... and lots of mentioning of how pink mack gets when she's embarassed... and she actually *yelled* when my dog surprised her (mack's a 'low talker')...
I dunno, ask Matt, because Jamie won't tell on herself, the brat.
Oh, and Trogdor, your namesake was invoked many times this evening, Matt does a 'spot-on' impression of StrongBad. I nearly peed myself laughing. Hee!

This is the wine that Matt brought. Between he and I, we drank the entire bottle (an aside to Flying Cow--I didn't realize it was so reasonably priced! It is a verrrry good wine to have such a low price!). This is the other wine he brought, and while it didn't suck, it wasn't nearly as good as the Almonique. It tasted like blackberry juice, really.
Thank goodness I'm too cheap to buy wine on a regular basis, I'd turn into a real wino. Yum!

But yes, it seems like Jamie likes her cucumbers firm. Who knew?
As for the pink thing, the spontaneous outburst is quite out of character for our dear mack, (as much as you'd never believe it from her posts here... but I digress)... and she actually laughed so hard that she started crying and turned a lovely shade of maroon.
We'll have to work on that outburst bit... little miss restrained.
Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled hatrack. (hmm... maybe I'll cover more in my upcoming landmark... )

No worries. I told Jamie I had to kick her out soon, and she woke up. *evil grin*
She felt much better then, and we took Sarah and Matt to Trophy Point (where there is a lovely view of the Hudson River) to take pictures. It was very cold and windy, and to be honest, I'm not even sure that anyone took pictures. Oh, Sarah did. Brave girl. We all ran back to Matt's car and continued the tour of West Point in the (relative) safety and warmth of the car. We went to my house, they got their stuff together and left.
I only regret not hugging them more. There should have been more hugs!
No, Jamie did not drink. Only Matt and I did. Matt was wise enough to drink water at the same time as he was drinking the wine, so he was (I assume) okay. I stayed up late after they left, drinking water, and I was okay in the morning. A little cotton-headed, but I didn't get a real headache until my family woke up and started demanding things of me. *grin* But that happens every Sunday morning, for some reason.
Now I have to go back to normal life. *le sigh* I enjoy having company, but I also enjoy my quiet life. One extra good thing about company: my house gets cleaned (because I don't want my company to see how I *really* live! harhar).
I will send my pictures to Jamie to post on madowl.

Hmm... everyone's happy for mack, and no one's happy for me...
Personally, I'm more happy for myself... I think Jamie's getting the short end of the stick in this arrangement.
