While I know there are a lot of /.ers on here...not everybody does. A group of programmers got together and for the Wizard of OS conference in Germany decided to put together a complete Dot Com company, from idea, to international IPO (selling on ebay ^_^).
What they've produced is a script that allows for you to instantly search any online search engine (they even have a downloadable plugin!). But it's really funny.
Aside from it being ammusing, this is a rather interesting idea, to just get together a couple of talented engineers with an idea, and let them go at it for a week or a month.
As I'm posting this the bid in ebay for the company has gone up to $711. with the posted 13 "employees" for a startup. Assuming that everybody worked the full 24 hours that's 312 man-hours. And just by assuming a starting salery of $10 an hour for new developers, that's $3,120 worth of man hours. I'm really surious what the winning bid is gonna be. Satyagraha
