Does anyone have any experience with Encaustic Art?

I’ve dabbled and would like to dabble a bit more. I’m out of the Encaustic paper that came with my iron and wax.

Would photo paper work? Poster board?

I would rather go purchase the paper at a store, where I can pick out different sizes than order it online. I can’t find it online at Michael’s or A.C. Moore’s. Does anyone know if they carry it?

I've found an example of Encaustic on Parchment Paper.

Still looking....
