Okay, it’s still Bob’s Birthday Eve where he is (mountain time zone), but it’s just turned midnight here, and it’s 1 am Hatrack time, and I’ll be away from the computer all day tomorrow (today?) so I thought I’d start the thread now.
He hasn’t been checking Hatrack while on the road, but Wednesday is a “writing day,” so since he’ll be at the computer anyway, he might.
Anyway, you all get the party started without us, and if he hasn’t checked in on his own, I’ll tell him to look when I talk to him tonight.

I’ve decided, since Kaioshin has pointed out that my love for Bob has not been as clearly plastered over the entire internet as I thought, that to save confusion I will from this time forth sign all my posts

[Edit: I accidentally double-clicked and it said something along the lines of flood protection being present, which I suppose comepletely takes care of accidental double posts! ¡Que genial!]

Well, I expect it to go much faster once he reads this thread. Until now I’ve just been drawing little hearts around his name in my math notebook.

The ones I’ve officiated have all started on time. Even the one where the groom forgot the license and had to drive home 15 minutes before the ceremony to fetch it.
Note to Bob – This would not work for us. Our ceremony is over 30 miles from home.

Happy Birthday, Bob! You see, I waited this long to send you your Todd Schaeffer solo cds because I knew, intuitively, that your birthday was coming up!

Or is that a Jewish thing?
Catholic wedddings start on time usually. They have to be in a church in most diocese, and they have to get all the weddings in before Satruday night Mass, so they're real strict about it. Also, lots of the couples use the full Mass form of the ceremony, so there's just no time to futz around.

Actually, they have to be in a church in all diocese. Which is why I was not married in a Catholic church.

Happy birthday Mr. Scopatz! You're now officially Older Than Bob. Well, older than Bob was, anyway. I suppose that's generally the case though.

This is technically true, but any Bishop can give an exemption. In some diocese this is never done, in most it's done very, very, very rarely. I've heard of some where they're granted routinely, but maybe this is a Catholic urban myth.
