I dunno, signal. I haven't had time to be at Hatrack lately (and I shouldn't be here now), so maybe I've missed something, but frankly, I'm generally quite impressed with the level of discourse I've seen today on the usually contentuous issues of gay marriage and Bush vs. Kerry. I'm not saying there aren't individual exceptions, but really, I've seen excruciatingly polite and thoughtful discourse. The winners in particular have largely been gracious, I would say.

I'm happy that, after waking up at 4:30 am every morning (except one) for the last two weeks, that I can still take naps and feel relatively okay.
I'm happy that so many people are happy about so many things.

I'm happy because I just had a nice evening. I'm happy because I went hunting for more information about Barack Obama and he is as excellent as I thought he probably was. And also because of the website I have found with dozens and dozens of Daily Show Clips.
And I'm also happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy that it smells sooooo good. . . even before I opened the box.

ElJay, one of my favorite kitschy bands has a track on that CD, Shonen Knife. It's how I got introduced to them actually. Remind me to bother you with their music on the way to the wedding.
