I just realized that I posted twice in one day for the first time in months if not years. While this is probably only my third or fourth topic, but who's counting?

Heck, at this pace I might just make it to two hundred in five years.

Anyway, I didn't really have a point to this thread but know that I'm writing I wonder if there are any rugby players out there.

I just started playing this season and I enjoy it with a passion bordering on the maniacal. Any other Ruggers out there with a taste for pain and the stench of sweat?

Boy, this is going to be a long night. Right now I'm trying to finish a paper on the number Pi. It wouldn't be so difficult if not for the fact that I was supposed to be working on this for the past three weeks and I really don't want to write a paper that is basically crap. It's made even harder because there is no assigned topic. It's essentially argue any point you want.

Argue a point? How am I supposed to do that when there isn't a disagreement?! Pi is a number. It's been around for a while. Is it possible to argue these incontrovertible facts?

Oh well. I think I'll go steal food in a while. That's another thing that's really bugging me. I registered for classes yesterday, (and by yesterday I mean wednesday) and I got totally forced out of all the classes I really wanted. No ethics next semester. No Global Terrorism, Politics of Horror or anything else that might be even remotely interesting.

Absolutely fantastic.

Anyway, now that I read over the rambling, incoherent angry torrent of words that I nailed to the page, I think you deserve an apology. This isn't really a topic so much as it is a rant. So, sorry, you have my sincerest and most heartfelt apologies.

Well anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

I think it doesnt matter how much you post, as long as the majority of posted material is quality. Or you can just increase you post number on the last post thread...

I've never played Rugby. Or even seen it played. Although I would probably be interested. There aren't many contact sports for girls out there. And contact sports are fun. But I am more of a Tae kwon do kinda girl.

That paper doesnt sound fun. Can you validate the existence of '3.14159...' as the number pi? As in, explain why it can't be any other number, and why its infinite and the like. ALthough I am sure your doing that.

Good luck!

I play rugby. [Smile]

Started this fall. My sister plays, and when I started at the same university, she didn't give me a whole lot of choice about joining. I'm a prop. What position do you play?

I was told once that I could be a hooker.

o_O was my face.

It was then explained that it's a position in rugby.

I think I'm still insulted.

Hooker jokes will never get old. I just finished my second full season and ended the season with a broken bone in my right hand. That was the roughest game I've ever played. And the ironic thing is that it was against my own team mates in an under 30/over 30 game. I was kicked in the eye, felt like my right leg was going to break twice, and finally ended with a broken hand.

I play prop (preferably loose head) and lock. I can't decide which I like better. Rugby is an amazing sport and everyone should play.

wow, that sounds really painful. I'm a flanker, so I usually end up getting stepped on but I've been able to avoid major injury thus far. In only the past three games, guys on my team have broken their wrists, collarbones, ribs, and players have come out and played while sick just so we could field 15. It's been a rough time [Smile]

Thanks for the suggestions, I turned it in this morning and I can only hope for the best.

I know a kid that can recite the first 300 digits of pi.

I played rugby and I have a friend that is captian of the team at my school. I was a prop, but I didn't have time for it and if I hurt my hands and could not play music I would cry forever.
