yes, why? do you think it means I don't take the other thread seriously enough? well, it doesn't. the two have completely different objectives. this one might be seen by some as humorous. i would hope the other one is not. the two threads have nothing to do with each other except that they look alike on first glance. but they are easy to tell apart. i am sorry if it makes you sad, though. should i delete it?

The all-out war on insects makes me sad. If it still exists, go look up the "Mommy Bugga Bugga" thread. I'm an insect advocate, and it saddens me to see people so willing to misunderstand and destroy insects. It adds poisons to our soil, air, and water. It breeds resistance into harmful insects. It upsets an appropriate balance of insects, harming beneficial bugs more than it keeps the ones we choose not to like away.

Oh. Okay. I don't advocate the use of chemical insect killers, except in cases where nothing else works and the bugs are an immediate danger.
Around here, we promote the population of birds and bats so that we don't have much of an insect problem. I haven't gotten a mosquito bite while on my own property in 14 years.

I like insects too... if they're cool insects. I love ants. I have frequently put myself in danger of getting stung to get a closer look at a wasp or a hornet. But mosquitoes? I shudder. Kill 'em all, I say.
Why didn't Noah just swat those two mosquitoes?
