On July 30, I move from my old house to Dragonwood. We've got our well in, and septic is in process. Electricity's been in for a while. Our goal is to finish walls and floors enough to move our furniture straight in where it needs to be. I am going crazy - pregnant, working construction, and moving SOON. Wish me luck! I am moving to the most wonderful place in the world, but it's a lot of hard work.

Well, I haven't found a way to get internet out there. So for a while, farewell. I don't know when I'll be able to get to Hatrack again after July 30.
I have loved you all dearly.

Hey, Jenny, any chance you'll be coming to my Dayton gathering? The tentative date for it right now is the weekend of Sept. 30th, although this isn't set in stone yet.

Kat, I'll try. It'll probably have to be done on intermittent trips to the public library. I shan't be settled enough to do that until mid August.

And it still doesn't have plumbing! We're trying to get the drywall and floors finished before we move the furniture. We have been using "Toilet Trees" for the past year on site, and I guess I can handle a couple more weeks of that, but I do hope the hubby gets the well pump and basic plumbing done soon. (We're building EVERYTHING ourselves). We do have electric, well, and septic, but the plumbing's not done yet.

Jenny, I am very glad you are going to be able to move into a place you guys built up from nothing... that must be such an awesome feeling.
You've contributed so much beauty and joy to this forum (and I'm not talking about the many lovely jenny pics on foobonic), I will miss having you around and look forward to your eventual return...

Jenny, is the email in your profile still current? I'd like to get a quick bit of info from you before you vanish into the ether.

Jenny, I hope you enjoy your new home and find it a wonderful peaceful place. Make sure to check in when you can through your library 'cause you'll be missed. Take care of that baby!
I just moved myself and it wasn't that bad, but I can't imagine building a house and moving into it! Take care of yourself and check in when you can so we know you're okay.

I'll be in and out until moving day, 'cause I love my Hatrack!
I'd be more excited if I had time to actually sit still and FEEL anything. Mostly we're just busy working from 6 AM to 11 PM. Fortunately, the parents and friends are coming to our aid when we most need them!
If any of you wanna see my new place, I'll be hosting my annual May Revel there the 1st Saturday in May. I'll be sure to post again, never fear. It just might be some time, and I'll be out of the loop.

I'm already looking to cash in some frequent flyer miles, baby.
Plus, I want more pictures of Dragonwood. Seriously.
I want to take Ron to see it. I hope that he would fall so in love with it that we'll have to buy some land around there also. *dreams*

Livvy - The woods across the street might be up for sale....It's part of the same woodland, you know. It's a little damper and creepier, but still relatively enchanted. When we get things up and running, I'll have to see about posting pictures.
And don't miss me too much. My hubby found out that the local phone company is considering offering DSL this winter.

I was going to tell you... I participated in a really neat Native American ritual last weekend. We cleansed a home with a sage inscense stick, and the inhabitants with a smudge ceremony, and followed it up with sweetgrass burning. It was neat to see the change in outlook everyone had. Certainly the placebo effect could account for it (and the sage for the improved smell of the place ) but it was still a powerful experience for me. Possibly just from the point of view of connecting in some way with my Shawnee Shaman ancestors.
Then I saw this thread, and thought how cool it would be if I could be in the divine Jenny G's very own coven.

You'd like it, Livvy. It's a lot like WenchCon, but without LOTR and adding in some ritual/sacred time. We just had a full moon ritual last night that was lovely. Picture 5 women giggling as they walk a dark path through the woods to a quiet spot. Then a fire that only smoked (wood was too wet to burn properly - oops), candles outlining the circle. We sing, bond, and chat. Then it's undoing the circle and again moving back through the dark woods, now lit by fireflies and starlight.
