I am fairly new to Hatrack, but I have been posting for about 1 month and I have no idea where everyone is from. So I thought I would start a thread.
I live in Orlando, Fl. I am a student at the University of Central Florida.

Check out this thread where it's been discussed before, along with links to threads even older than that where it was discussed before that.

Well the links in that thread all go 404. I was checking to see if I'd previously answered.
Lifelong resident of the Chicago suburbs, would love to move to New Hampshire if things work out the way I want them to.

Originally I am from New York City, but I moved to Palm Coast, Fl at the wee age of 4. When I graduated High School is when I moved to Orlando for college.

Where I'm from is different from where I live, which is also different from the place that is my legal residence. Sigh. Life is complicated sometimes.

I moved from there to be in the Midwest Clump of Hatrack.
You're in a good clump though. I suggest you try to join in some of the local Hatrack activities.
I used to teach adjunct at UCF in the Psych department. So...what are you taking there? Enjoying it?

Yeah, Amanecer, how come you didn't come to DallasCon or ever get together with us when we were living in Richardson?

Honestly, I don't think I ever read a post about your open dinner invitations. That's too bad.
Also, I think I'm still mostly under the lurker status. I thought meeting might be wierd since I know so much about you guys and you guys know almost nothing about me.
*attempts to delurk a little*

I go to school (and technically live) in Richardson, Texas (just north of Dallas), but my real home is in Kingwood, Texas (north of Houston). Both places are way too hot.

Sure we do! They're called either "cons" (if a person/people are coming from out of area/state/country to attend and it's going to be more than just a couple of hours type thing) or "clump gatherings" (if it's just people from the area getting together for an event like a book signing, to watch a movie, to have a meal, to go to an amusement park, whatever.) Unless, of course, you're in SoCal, in which case a clump gathering is a shinda.
If you want to have one, start a thread saying "Ft. Lauderdale get-together?" or some such. I bet there are people in driving distance who would love to work out a time and place with you.
