I am certain that December 25th 2088 is the last day in time.

How do I know this? My Motorola phones' calendar only goes to December 25th 2088. Is that wierd? Why pick that day? I have sent an email to Motorola asking for the significance. I will keep you all up to date as I get the information in.

How did you determine this?

It's probably so they can charge you for a new phone in 80 years or so.

Well at least by the year 2088 I'll be 109, If I'm still alive. So I'll have lived a full life.

The significance is that you are getting a new phone for Christmas 2088. Take care of the one you have, it has to last a long tome.

Haha, I'll be 102. Nice.

I wonder if that means I have to get a new phone too. That would suck.

In 2088, phones will be obsolete. We'll all have cellphones implanted in our teeth and ears.

And no roaming charges.

I'll have just turned 118 three days earlier.

I'm betting they're thinking we'll finally have Star Trek communicators that know whom we are trying to reach without us telling them, give perfect fidelity, and unlimited night and weekend minutes.

Well, 65536 is a power of 2. And 65535 days before 12/25/2088 is July 23, 1909. Maybe that's the start date they used internally.

Anything special happen on that date?

I guess I will live a couple of years longer, because my phone goes to 12-31-2090... which is a Sunday... I will be 112. I hope I get a new phone before then though.

I used to work at Circuit City, and they used 12-25-25 to signify an unspecified date for delivery. I think it was because they are not open for Christmas, so no one could accidently type in the wrong year...

Ha! I'll be 101 by then, for some reason I know I'll be around. I don't plan on bitting the dust until I've broken the world record.

July 23, 1909 is exactly 80 years before Daniel Radcliffe's birthday. Harry Potter must be involved. It's the only logical explanation.

Oh, yes, and that will be about the same time the Sun expands to a helium giant. Totally awesome!
