Feature Commentary with Writer/Director Joss Whedon Deleted Scenes Outtakes Future History: The Story of Earth That Was What's in a Firefly Re-Lighting the Firefly Joss Whedon Introduction
Good enough for me. Future History sounds very intriuging. I'm curious if it is about how he came up with the universe's history, or if it explains more about the history documentary style. Outakes should be fun.

By the way, if you didn't get to go to one of the preview screenings back in May and June, the introduction by Whedon on this disk will, presumably, be what was shown right before the movie in these screenings. Its an entertaining little piece.
I also expect to see a deluxe edition of the movie released sometime next year. This edition reeks of an attempt to get something out before Christmas since the extras are a little on the thin side.

Still marking of the days til it comes in. This is one Christmas present I may insist on opening early.

I just ordered two copies of the DVD. I'll probably order more cause I just think it's going to be everyone's Christmas present.

Well, I think the petition is ridiculous. No one is ever going to make a movie for this fan base again with all the bitching that goes on.
We've dealt with bad DVD covers folks. I mean look at the Star Wars DVDs? None of them used the lovely paintings that were created for the posters. No. They were instead filled with disembodied heads airbrushed into explosions and lightsaber battles.
We still bought them though!

Chris, where are they posting fan-made alternatives? Is it in one of the threads on the Browncoat site?

We did, and we'll buy this one. But personally I was hoping for something that would appeal to the zillions who didn't see the movie and don't know what it's about.

*psst* Chris. Look at my question above your last post.
I agree, it would be great to have a DVD cover that told the masses what the movie was about, but I think (as terrible as the composition is) that it might actually be more successful than the one sheet was. At least there are space ships and some more guns on the cover.

If only the designers of the real cover were smart enough to use that poster in their design. Compliments to your sister.

I wonder if the "Future History" thing is a reference to Heinlein. I say that because of the bounty hunter Jubal (in Objects in Space) is named after a Heinlein character...
I love Firefly so much. ;'(

Serenity has finally crept into the top 20 sellers over at Amazon.com. It's at #18 for now while the Firefly DVDs still hold steady in the top 10.

Wow. Napoleon Dynamite and The Phantom Menace are still selling that well? Who knew? Actually, what really gets me is that Episode I is selling better than Episode II.

That's not at all shocking. What makes me happy is to see that Serenity is currently outselling War of the Worlds with preorders.
