1. Teaming up with your favorite person to play doubles scrabble.

2. Winning.

3. A good cat, yes. Even a bad cat.

4. Finding out that the movie you saw when you were nine and that your parents made you turn off ten minutes before the end and that eventually you gave up hope of EVER finding and thought in fact that maybe you just imagined the whole thing -- is sold at Borders for 9.99! Buying it and then finally seeing the ending after nearly 29 years of wondering. (It had a happy ending [Smile] )

Cheese

The act of creation, be it music, art, a new mathematical proof, a home, a life, or emotion in others.

The act of discovery and getting excited about it and knowledge.

Existing. Taking time to feel the moment, the touch, the taste, the sound, the smell, the sight of what's happening to you each moment.

The possibilities. There is so much you can do, so many choices. It's incredible when you think about it.

Food in general. Can be tomatoes, strawberries, cherries, tiramisu, also a good chicken, onion soup, omlette, apple pie, ice-cream...
cats are great, too
not for eating, mind you...

And sleeping and knowing you don't have to get up early.

Also, being able to buy floorboards thanks to the (afore-mentioned) unexpected inflow of cash [Big Grin]

Late-summer mornings in the mountains, just before sunrise, when the air is crisp and cool.

Mid-summer evenings, an hour after sunset, when the sky is deeper and bluer and the stars are brighter and clearer than anything imaginable.

Early-summer afternoons, especially that first warm walk without jacket, scarf or gloves. (Okay, really this is Spring, but I needed the symmetry)

The moment when you realize that someone you love truly loves you in return.

Campfires

Waking up in warm blankets on a cold morning and just staying in bed.

Hidden mountain lakes

Giving of yourself

It's all worth it. Everything. Every moment, even the ones that hurt. Because life itself is its own justification and its own reward.

That perfectly content feeling that only comes on Saturday morning. You're wound down from a week of work and Monday morning is as far away as it's going to be. The sun is coming up and you have all day ahead of you.

I get that feeling on Friday night. Monday morning is further away, and I have all night to do whatever I want. [Big Grin] I'm a night owl, which makes it hard to keep a regular sleeping pattern in a 9-5 Mon-Fri world.

I'd add driving through the country on a sunny summer's day while listening to good rock 'n roll. [Smile]

I second, third and fourth RISK.

Hefeweizen.

Unfailing friends and despicable enemies.

Long nights spent talking about nothing.

Cinnamon toast crunch.

The Notwist, Head Automatica, Placebo, Pink Floyd.

Oh, and Radiohead.

Crushes.

Rainbow sherbert.

Solitary sunny days.
