I saw my OB today and I'm cleared to have another baby. Yes, I am high-risk, but since we know the risks this time, we can take precautions. I'll take strong antibiotics before conception, so that my endometrial tissue will be GBS-free. (GBS is strep-B. It's not the one that causes strep throat. Some women have it normally in their uteruses and it doesn't cause any problems until pregnancy.) They'll put in a cerclage (a stitch to hold my cervix shut) at 13 weeks and I'll be checked every week from 20 weeks on.
My OB also wants me to see my perinatologist, just to see what he has to say. He kept referring to my "next pregnancy" while I was his patient, so I think he'll clear me, too.
We're not going to start fertility treatments until after Aerin's first birthday (September 12th). We'd like to conceive around December so that Aerin will be 2 when the new baby is born.
Even after all I went through with Aerin, I'm very excited at the thought of having another one.

....is it just me or is there some sort of coordinated baby boom going on here at Hatrack?
I mean first the Mooses (maybe there was someone before them but I can't remember) Then dawnmaria and now Mrs. M. This is just one weird month. *shakes head*

There's something in the water. There have been a lot of babies born over the past year.
Congratulations, Mrs. M! I've been following Aerin's progress with delight. I hope your next pregnancy goes more smoothly.

We just had one ourselves two months ago, and there are still several babies coming up. It does seem like a lot.
I think that in a large group like this, there are bound to be a decent number of expectant mothers. Just statistics.

(although I must admit that when I read the thread title - and didn't bother with the math - I thought that maybe you'd already conceived again!)

Kira that's excellent news. I hope you'll keep us posted throughout your 'Odessy' like you did with your first pregnancy. That was so special and it had such a delightful ending. Good luck!
