Lots of truth in those ideas. I never even thought about those rules dealing with Toy Story, but they are all true. As much as I like Disney movies (except for the last 5 years, which I have hated), I like what Pixar does a whole lot as well.

Part II!

Totally true about how Fantasy=Rules That Must Be Followed.

I just finished reading a fairly enjoyable fantasy novel about vampires. The author went at -great- lengths to establish the rules of this world...especially how the common tropes about vampires could be viewed as merely misunderstood. Even sympathetic.

Then, in the last two chapters...she broke every rule she had tried so hard to establish.

Worst of all, it wasn't to revive a story point...it was to be cute. Bleah.

Those are very good points. That probably explains why pixar is just so cool. They get it!
