After some advice in my previous thread about upgrading my graphics card, I was looking at this one:

ATI Radeon® X1900 CrossFire™ solution w/512MB GDDR3 memory DVI, VGA (via Adapter)

It's decent. Should play (just about) any game you choose.

If they were both the same price, I would lean toward the GeForce, but the margin is not exceptional. There are also some games that were desined to perform optimally on ATI Radeon cards(Tribes Vengeance, etc). Both will probably suit your needs.

I just recently aquired an e-GeForce 7600GT 256 MB, and can say, besides the malfunctioning one I exchanged, that I am very impressed and satisfied. I usually play Call of Duty 2 and Oblivion, just so you know where I'm coming from.

7900 will get you want you want. I also prefer Nvidia's drivers over ATI's in general.

Check out the graphics card charts at Tom's Hardware Guide. It looks like they don't have data for the exact models you're looking at, but I'd say they're pretty close in performance; the Nvidia card might be better at higher resolutions.
