This is probably one of the cleverest things ever animated. It may soon be on Nickelodeon too!

I do not find it incredibly clever. Slightly annoying. Not nearly as bad as Dora. Or Wow Wow Wubbzy, for that matter.

Have children's cartoons always been on acid or is this a new development?

I think it's a new development. Although Looney Tunes was pretty... well... looney.

Looney Tunes had "rules", better animation, and characters.

Zim had wit, social commentary, better animation, and characters.

This cartoon is without a doubt, "diametrically opposed" to my goals and vision for the future of 2D animation. One with good stories, well told, well rendered.

It's a good lesson for me though, I know what to avoid.

Me either. It was not clever at all, and the animation wasn't good.

Yeah, this clip's been floating around for a while.

I can never get past the part when they're chasing that weeping...thing.

Seems too much like weirdness for the sake of being weird.

I love the weirdness and the music! I wasn't sure if I was into it or not... until he exclaimed, "PENGUINS!"

I love it.

It had some good ideas, but it went of the deep end within minutes. Unfortunately most of it was unoriginal and what was unique seemed obnoxious to me.

If I was a kid I would have much preferred he give directions to the fire elemental and leave it at that, the throwing snowballs just made no moral sense to me even if the kid is just playing make believe.

I definitely agree with Puffy on the, "Too much weirdness for the sake of being weird."

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The animation's pretty lackluster, but the writing was great.

I watched it until the snowballs, then called Cayla over to watch it. The computer has headphones on, so I didn't hear the sound. I heard Cayla saying "what!" "what!" and then at the end, "I think I just lost a few brain cells."

She's 11. I think she loves it.

It was okay, in my opinion. Some of the weirdness was good (like the penguins), most of it was bad (like the snow monster and Mars with Abraham Lincoln). I have to say though, why do cartoon children always sound the same? It is as if there was just one little boy voicing all the cartoons from the past x decades.

I didn't get the point. The only thing I was sure of was that the boy and the dog were wrong about why the princess's unicorn was crying. She was actually crying because her nose was chopped off and she had no bones in her legs.

That wasn't a unicorn - it was a rainicorn. A rainbow unicorn, which of course must be rainbow-shaped.

The boy is like the most ADHD kid possible on a diet of pure sugar. [Eek!]

Man, some of you guys are total ptoofs. Adventure Time is the best thing in the world since the last best thing in the universe. If it doesn't become a show I will be no kidding upset, there was barely a moment I wasn't in absolute hysterics the first time I saw it, and not because it's "lol so wacky" but because they completely NAILED it. I do indeed think it's a very clever show, it has a lot that would excite a child's imagination using an ageless kind of humor. Pendleton Ward has my love forever.

And I disagree that it's being weird just for the sake of it, though I can understand why a lot of people see it that way. I think it's trying to be fun and the mind(s) behind it just have an oddball sense of humor that's kind of, ermm, "specific". To me, it's timed perfectly.

I agree it was just trying to be weird for the sake of it. Thankfully it's the kind of weird I find highly amusing. I laughed out loud at several points.

porcelain girl, while it seemed a bit "too weird for the sake of being weird" at the beginning, I will say it won me over by the end of the clip. I think it was the penguins that did it.

Wow. That was awful.

Did Christopher Paolini write that?
