I'm a major lurker here and hardly ever post, but I've participated in this for the last 2 years and I'm glad I have over 100 posts so I can do it again this year.

What about if you've used an alternate name for the past couple years, died out, and are wanting to use this as a way to kick-start a new love with Hatrack?
my old name had almost 300 posts

Ok, this is my introduction and I am sending the first poster an e-mail.
My name is Andrew. I am 18. I am from Miami, Fl. I am currently a freshman at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Yes, I know that it is quite the climate change. I plan to be an Electrical Engineer. I have been an OSC fan for some time. I have read all of Ender's game repeated times all within a couple days on more than one occasion. I have read a decent amount of his other books including the homecoming saga and the maker series. I've also read pastwatch, treasure box, and enchantment. Also, I've recently started to read his columns in the paper.
I continue to read more OSC book as quickly as I get them. Also an avid general sci fi reader. Two other favorites are Robert Heinlein and Ben Bova. Though most sci fi is good for me. Favorite tv shows are Stargate SG1/Atlantis, House M.D., and many others. I read rather quickly and it is a pasttime I enjoy. I am currently reading "time enough for love" by robert heinlein. This will be followed by 4 other book I have in line. Hopefully I will be finished with these books in the coming week.
If there is anything else you would like to know about me please let me know. Email if you would like or AIM:bikerandrew.

Nice to meet you! If eros happens to have developed an irrational hatred of 18 year old Floridians with electrical engineering ambitions I'll happily vouch for you.

Howdy, miamiandy, you have an excellent first name, and anyone who lists Heinlein as one of their favorite authors is clearly a human being worth vouching for.
(I do, however, have a completely rational loathing of 18 year old Floridians with electrical engineering ambitions.)
This year I am assigning people as I go, instead of doing a drawing, so if anyone needs extra time to find a gift, please let me know (via the email in the first post) and I'll get it out to you.

Yes you have, we've emailed back and forth multiple times.
I have not yet sent out information on who you are sending to, I have just sent some sort of conformation, so that in the gift exchange gmail account it shows that there are two messages for each person this year.

Oh, I see; I misunderstood and thought that you meant that you'd given everyone their assignments.

How many people are playing this year? I'm impatient - apparently I can't wait 4 days to hear the final tally... ; )

They still can sign up, but right now we have something like 40. Very low numbers. Keep signing up.

I would love to sign up to do this (I had lots of fun the last couple years doing it), but I'm concerned that since I'm due with my first baby on Dec 18th that I may not be able to post in time when I receive my gift (I can't imagine having a problem getting one sent off by the deadline though). Would that be a big problem?

Ludosti, that would be ok, but if you can post try to, and get back to me (I'll even give you a phone number if that's easiest) sometime around christmas whether you have gotten yours or not.
Noemon, I don't have the 03 or 04 numbers, I do have the 05 and 06 ones.
2005: 74 2006: 80 2007: so far 40. Keep sending entries through wednesday.

Ok, I'm in if someone will vouch for me. I've been really busy lately and couldn't post like I'd like to, but this seems like a lot of fun. So, do I wait until someone vouches for me to send my email...or just do it anyway?

I signed up, but I think the action steps need to be bumped up in your opening post, particularly the one that must happen today.
It's kind of strange to have the proviso on >100 posters before the explanation of how to participate. Just saying.
