I'm beginning to realize that I'm going to have to be serious every once and a while, but it's my magnanimous pleasure to make people laugh, though it takes really long for me to get the post posted posthaste because I type slower than a drunk turtle. Though I am just a young'un and I'm just memorizing the locations of the letters individually.Oh, and thanks for the welcome, breyerchic. I hope I can be just as familiarized with Hatrack as Daddy, and he's been posting on here for nearly 7 years. And don't be suprised if I say something stupid or immature, I'm only 9. [Roll Eyes]

Luna, how wonderful that you came here and gave us such a charming introduction to you, yourself. Are you a Harry Potter fan? (I was wondering about the "Luna" and LL in the Potter stories.)

I'm having a nice Christmas now, too. [Smile]

See, that sort of intelligence is something i'm lacking now. To have written that when I was nine would have been something out of a fantasy novel.

But yeah, welcome. You already fit in. [Big Grin]

As for EG, after you finish it and LOVE it (which I'm positive you will) try the sequals. Just don't give up on the first couple chapters of SftD, they're very different that EG. I was about your age when I first tried the sequals, and it threw me for a serious loop.

Hey everybody, guess what? I'm writing a novel! It's about a girl named Lydia living in Alabama with her mother, and then a boy named Brian moves in next door and at first they don't get along because Lydia is technically a hillbilly and Brian is a city slicker but then they become best friends. It has such a sad ending though:Brian is attacked by mountain lion. It's called The Cat And The Dog. [Mad] [Mad] [Kiss] [Cry]

Well, Daddy, obviously the mad faces are Lydia and Brian not getting along, then the kissing faces are Lydia and Brian getting along, and the crying face is the sad ending.....okay, maybe it's not that obvious. [Blushing]

Actually her stories are good. The most recent one had a excellent McGuffin. The opening needed a little something, I thought, but it was definitely creative.

Daughter mine, why don't you post a little something that you've written?

"okay, maybe it's not that obvious."

It was, it's just that nobody here has used smilies exactly like that before, that I know of. It was OK, though.

Actually she may not be mad. I used to have to break out the 10 pound, 2 volume dictionary weekly or even daily when I was her age and reading something with words I didn't know. Where's the shame in that?

Quit lying to the people, TL. I don't need help with my vocabulary. Also, I'm not lying. Ask steven. He's my Daddy. Maybe I am a little like Ender Wiggin, being so young but yet so sophisticated. I'm in the AIG class, a special class for smart kids. If you ask steven, his response will be "She lies you not." Also, I'm on chapter 3 of my novel. I AM NOT STEVEN! I AM THE ALMIGHTY SKYLER! DO NOT MOCK MY EARLY ENDER-LIKE INTELLIGENCE!11! [No No] [Mad]

Okay, that last sentence rang pre-adolescent. But take it as a compliment, Luna. TL is not condescending to you.

Though technically, you're supposed to be 13 to be on this board. That's why I don't let my daughter post here. Of course you have an IQ of 140+ so it's like you're 13... but that's true of virtually everyone here. I'm mentally over 50 years old [Big Grin] . I wouldn't normally speak of IQ but I anticipate that it might come up and I have to go to bed now.

Wow. Pretty impressive, even if you are using your parents as walking dictionaries, Luna! It's not a sin to use them, and even I occasionally need to pick up a dictionary to make sure one of the words I use means what I think it means.

This is scary. You're as smart as a tack, and I didn't actually realize you were that young until I saw it stated outright. I would have guessed younger than me, but definitely not THAT young!
