We have both children and goats.

We had goat kids, but then they grew up. We'll have a bunch more here in a couple of months, though. Yes, in a couple of months, we'll be kidding. I'm serious!

Incidentally...what do you call your children when you address them all together?

For example, when I was trying to get them dressed for church yesterday, I said, "Guys, go get your church clothes on."

When I talk about them at work or on my blog, I call them either "my children" or "the troupe."

I don't tend to call them kids; although, now that I think about it, when I talk about the younger two to the older two, I do tend to use the phrase, "the little kids." As in, "No, the little kids aren't coming because they're going to be taking a nap."

Me too! A baby, that is, not a goat.

My father-in-law has several baby goats, though, if that counts.

Two. I usually call them "The Kids" or "My Kids" when I talk about them collectively.

Individually, I've noticed she's usually "Honey," "B," or "Little One" (not so little anymore, I guess).

He's pretty much always "Buddy."

That is, when I don't use their actual names. Or expletives.

Ok. So Sasha has been asking me for a week to type something to my friends. Time has been scarce and I rarely get on the computer at home when he's awake. So this morning I had five minutes, so he begged. He typed the question in himself.

He will type more tonight I am sure.

I've raised half a dozen, but they can no longer be called children, I fear. I never did call them kids. I also raised goats for a time, so I had kids then.

My youngest daughter would get quite offended if anyone referred to her as a kid. She'd let you know in no uncertain terms that a kid was a baby goat and she was NOT a goat.

I'm very tickled by the term "childebeast" . . . except my delightful son is now a teen . . . so would that make him a "teenebeast" or a "beastly teen" or a . . . . sorry -- bad joke. He's still my sweet angel boy, no matter how old he is nor how many expletives I tie on to the beginning or end of his name . . . *grin*

Yes, Sasha -- I have one offspring (providing you mean of the human sort . . . ) otherwise, nope! No kids.
