So yesterday morning i had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled and i was wondering if anyone had some good foods i could try eating. I have been eating jello, pudding, sodas, and luke warm tomato soup(i'm not allowed to have anything hot.)
Problem is that jello and pudding diet doesn't fill me up that much, and when i tried to eat chicken noodle soup the noodles tried to kill my stitches. So any ideas of filling easy to eat foods?

I can see myself eating the rice congee, even small bits of rice at a time is a good idea. But i'm still not cool enough to eat tofu in any form. Really though i have only had one good experience with tofu and about twenty bad ones, it's really not for me.
Edit to say i reaqlly really want mashed potatoes right now.

Salmon! Granted the one wisdom teeth I had taken out was rather uncomplicated (minus the broken piece of the root that surfaced and fell out over a month later), but I was recommended to eat fish.

Ah. I had no stitches, just a bloody hole. I pulled out the clot once on day 2 (whoops). I also got away with taking two doses of ibuprofen on the pain killer front.
I guess I got off easy with my first wisdom tooth removal, mostly because the tooth was completely exposed, just crooked and cutting into my lower gums (I'd actually gone to the oral surgeon thinking they were going to remove my callus when they took out the tooth). The last three are going in December. I shouldn't have waited to do it at age 22, my teeth have roots like a 25 year old's teeth in the pictures. The bottom two are still partially impacted. I'm hoping not to get knocked out, but who knows?
Go for salmon when you graduate to semi-solids then.

How long do you have to do this? When I got my wisdom teeth out, I thought it was only for 24 or 48 hours, so I never felt the need to get that creative. A glass of milk or fruit juice might help. Liquid diets really aren't that filling.

Well all four of my teeth were completely bone impacted which means they weren't going to come out of my gums they were going to crash into my other teeth as they grew so my recovery time will be a little longer. I'm on one hydro-coden and two ibuprofe every three hours for two days.
So have eaten mashed potatoes and slightly mushed eggs, i have refried beans for dinner(everyone else is eating burritos) and by tomorrow i should be able to go semi-solid or completly solid.

I had maxillofacial surgery and was wired shut for 8 weeks. I feel your pain! All I wanted after a week was some meat! My mom cooked a pot roast until it was fall apart tender then ran it through the blender. With a little gravy, it was a welcome change to shakes and Jello! Also baked onions were good. I had the added problem of having to load all the food into a large syringe and pumping it down my throat with a tube!

When I had my wisdom teeth out (general anaesthetic, stitches, ouch), I lived on banana milkshake - it's better for you if you put a banana in a blender - cheesy scrambled egg, yoghurt, mashed potato and mince.
If you have mouthwash, remember to use it every time after you eat - I'm sure that was why I healed so quickly.

I had all four impacted wisdom teeth out last January. I survived on applesauce, peanut butter (carefully), mashed potatoes, yogurt, and an assortment of baby foods for about a week. I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetable baby foods. They were a heck of a lot tastier than I thought would be possible. Once my jaw was a little more mobile I started tearing up big slices of bread into tomato or red pepper soup, which satisfied some cravings for bulk, but was still easy to swallow. Then I worked up to small solids like corn (off the cob), peas, steamed carrots, shredded chicken... things that I could get away with swallowing whole if I got tired of chewing. Heh.
And yeah, stick with the saltwater.
A week after the teeth-rip-out I had my check-up and the doc gave me a little syringe thing to squirt water into the holes after meals. It hurt like crazy the first few times, but was extremely helpful in keeping everything nice and clean. I healed up super fast with no complications. *sending healing vibes your way*

I was told NOT to have soda! No carbonation.
I ate lots of soup. And no jell-o. I was told to eat soft NUTRITOUS foods. Canned fruit (applesauce or mashed up peaches, etc.), soup, tuna salad, etc., anything I basically could mash with my tongue and swallow.

Go get a Frosty. That or try some Mac and Cheese. I was able to just swallow the noodle whole when I had all my wisdom teeth out.

I had all of mine taken out last in August! The first two days were the worst, then it got rapidly better
I whole-heartedly recommend a Wendy's Frosty, soup (not too hot), mashed potatoes, applesauce. Drink plenty of water or juice; wait a few days before soda. Also, DO NOT USE STRAWS. I spent a day reading about various horror stories on the internet involving dry socket and disease; I was extremely paranoid for a few days :X Bottom line: just eat mushy or liquidy stuff that doesn't have little grains or pieces that could find their way to your wounds.
You'll feel a lot better very soon, and then you can start eating normal food gradually, just chew slowly.
