I think satire is kinda propaganda almost by definition. The song isn't pretending to be anything other than what it is.

No, Urinetown is a bunch of leftist propaganda disguised as satire. This is a satire of that kind of play, but with the overall message being in support of gay marriage. I don't mind it since it's only 3 minutes long and has a very specific and obvious message. Fine with me.
I don't like musicals like Urinetown that spend two hours telling the audience how very clever the writer is, and how very relevant and timeless their ideas are because they take the form of musical theater, when all they're doing is bashing capitalism with a bunch of stupid straw man portrayals, and providing no useful alternative views, other than, "people suck, and I'm better than them."

You can hardly paint a play where the liberal idealists end up killing everybody off due to not making tough decisions with such a simplistic brush. Especially when the entire casts then chants HAIL MALTHUS!

...but really, WHO CARES? He was 'just' a Walmart worker. He can be replaced for 6.50 an hour. It's not like he was a white child, then, it would have been a real tragic story.
